This is literally a veteran move almost every single NBA star will do, and Kobe has even talked about using it a million times. It’s part of the game at this point and it doesn’t change the outcome of what happened. Calling a timeout is what should have happened. And if not, you call a play for LeBron or for one of our shooters. You don’t fucking force your way to the rim on a 7ft defensive monster.

He shouldn’t be trying to go one on one against Embiid, especially attacking the Basket. Not even Lebron. With a guy like that defending you either call for a pick or do a fancy dribble for a step back jumper. Driving to the Basket is a low IQ and a low percentage play.

15 year vet making 47m a year should know better than ramming into the paint expecting a call in the clutch.

Nothing wrong with this pic. Embid just helping Russ to stay inbound.

While that’s a foul, he shouldn’t have been in that situation in the first place. Give the ball to LeBron.

The point of driving (ATTACKING) is that either you get a close shot OR you get fouled and shoot 2 easy open shots with zero defense.
One of these guys is also way faster while the other is way slower and not gonna catch up to Russ once Russ has blown passed him

And there was a timeout available

Not on Russ at all. Was pissed off at him and called him all sort of names but wow this is egregious

Did we used up a coach’s challenge?

Don’t care about the No call, Russ should not have had the ball and ham saying he’d take Russ bs embiid every time shows he is t fit to be a head coach. Embiid is a DPOY candidate and Russ is a serial choker. WTF

I was going to say that it was a soft foul, but nope, that’s a 300 pound guy, not just bumping him, but it looks like he has his whole hand gripped around RW’s forearm.
It’s a little blurry, but we see his thump around the front, and his other fingers kind of underneath his arm.
