Sorry Denver, but the Mavs have hot dogs that Noel really likes. You have no chance

We ain’t trading DAJ but to have a real backup center! Would be amazing.

Wow I think his salary is literally 15k too much to fit into the Monte Morris trade exception. Noel makes $9.24m, the exception is worth $9.125m (+$100k buffer). Second issue is creating a roster spot. Ish ($4.75m) + Davon ($1.9m) x 1.25 + 100k = $8.4m. So the deal would (I think) have to be either Jeff + Ish (which would leave an open roster spot for the buyout market) or Ish + Davon + DJ. My take is only get Noel if you can figure out a loophole to use that exception. He’s more likely to win us a playoff game than ish or davon. But more likely than both of them?? and at the cost of changing a roster that doesn’t need to be changed idk.

  4. I would stick with Zeke for that backup big spot. Noel doesn’t move the needle for the Nuggets in PO imo

  5. The only real reason I don’t want nuggets to trade Zeke, is because he’s a young guy at 22, and next year when we have kamagate as the 5, Zeke can slot back into 4. Our bench should be real good defensively next season. Besides bones. The lineup would be bones, Jamal/KCP/Braun, Braun/vlat, Zeke/vlat, kamagate/Zeke.

Even if a trade happens i bet it would be for the tpe plus a 2nd rounder and ish smith would be sent to lower our tax bill. No chance zeke gets traded for noel

I don’t really see why anyone wouldn’t want this. At most it would cost Zeke, but you could probably do it for a 2nd and Ish.

I like Zeke quite a bit actually but you guys know how hard the playoffs are and it’s literally been said ad nauseam by every media outlet how successful we won’t be without a defensive big.

EDIT: Nvm it’s not possible because of TPE rules

Doesn’t make any sense. Zeke is so much better even as an undersized back up 5. Noel can’t do shit on offense. Is Noel even better on defense than Zeke? If he is, the gap should be big enough to compensate for Noel’s shit offense. I don’t think the defensive gap between Noel and Zeke is big enough to do that.

Having Noel, since he’s older, Malone will be forced to play him because Malone is addicted to old players. That means less minutes for Vlatko and Zeke. I’d rather roll with Vlatko and Zeke as our back up front court. They’ve been building good chemistry these past few games. Zeke and Vlatko can space the floor for Bones to penetrate. With Noel, the paint will be clogged.

I’m not a big fan of changing things when things are working, and I’d rather keep Zeke, but we’ll see.

And all this talk all season about our backup centre, but when the time comes, Jokic is going to play 48 mins.
