Your New York Knicks are top 5 in offense more than halfway through the season. Only the Knicks, Nets, Celtics, Pelicans and Grizzlies are top 10 in both offense and defense.

In the clutch our offensive is 11th and defense is 25th. As most of our struggles most would agree come in the 4th.

But I was told Thibs doesn’t know offense and is outdated on defense.

Our guys have also been playing 40 mpg which means they are gassed by the 4th which hurts the defense

This team desperately needs someone off the bench who can pick up the scoring load so thibs doesnā€™t play our guys 40+ minutes a night and are gassed by the end of the game. I think Bogdonavic on the Pistons is a good option. Although heā€™s not a good defender, we would at least be able to play without having to have one of either Brunson, RJ or Randle in the game.

Going into this season I had them as a play-in team. Of course anything can happen but they’ve def exceeded my expectations so far. Good work

we need vets. our offensive and defesne collapse in the 4th. we are solid, but to young to compete with the elites.

honestly this team has no business having a top 5 offense. credit to thibs.

I wouldnā€™t mind Alec Burks back off the bench šŸ¤·šŸ¾

i doubted this guy literally when their were rumors about him years before he was even hired and i was truly wrong. The minutes are a lot still, sure, but i actually think heā€™s been better about it this season. 100% was wrong and i really like Thibs. Even if he hasnā€™t won a ring exposing our guys to HOF coaching has made them all better imo.

We have such a strange team. We don’t have a superstar but we have the perfect pieces to beat any team. All we really need is someone that can guard those wings like LeBron and KD.

This is honestly making me start to question offensive efficiency stats as a barometer for how good an offense is. For people that watch our games, we have clear issues in outside shooting, creation outside of Brunson and Randle, and overall offensive competence on the bench outside of IQ.

We have the perfect recipe for a good rating here, due to:
    – great paint scoring and efficiency (Brunson, Randle and Mitch hardly miss down there)
    – low turnover rate (couple with hardly any assists because we iso a lot due to a lack of creators)
    – slow pace, which means that the possessions that we do score are valued much higher than faster paced teams

    Advanced stats are weird lol

Mitchell Robinson is way more important to our offense than people think. This team is 25th in 3 point percentage and 23rd in 2 point percentage. Mitch getting us so many second chance opportunities has been huge.
