Is Thomsanity over?

  1. I always felt he was too small for center and too slow for PF. He has a nice midrange shot and can finish at the rim but I never felt he was a starting caliber player. A good bench player to give a team an offensive punch once in a while is a realistic expectation of him.

  2. _TIMBER_

Bryant and Schroder are just regressing t the mean after having an unfathomable heat check stretch. Lakers need to get AD back or make a trade because rn we don’t have the depth

  3. MisterHibachi

He’s a back up centre, what did people expect? He’ll have his ups and downs. Can’t believe people on this sub were using a 10 game hot streak to argue that this team wouldn’t benefit from Myles Turner

  4. BaullahBaullah87

Nah he is still fine but when matched against other top or up and coming centers one on one, he will have a hard time. He missed some easy ones today and we were coming off a tough b2b after playing against Embiid lol

  5. Empathetic_Walrus

Remember people last week saying he deserved 4 years / 80 million?

  6. gunbladerookie

It was never a thing. Only people who don’t know basketball thought he was a actually a starter.

  7. Junior_Cantaloupe_23

His defense was bad from the start

  8. Nope he will be beck vs Kings. He is Kings killa

  9. blacPanther55

His offensive production will return but he was always atrocious on defense.

  10. YouKnowIt-IKnowIt

This sub is so over-reactionary it actually makes me laugh

  11. Choomeleon

Probably a mix of the coach figuring when to use people and him trying to figure how to fit into the system every night. He did well for awhile. Hopefully it wasn’t a fluke

  12. Freeeecurry

It isn’t regression or anything beyond the fact that opposing teams are now game planning better for him and Schroeder.

When that happens it’s up to our coaches to put in these players against more favorable rotations

Adjusting and game planning are two quintessential elements of coaching. I don’t understand why there isn’t more in game adjustments during the flow of games as opposed to the end where coaches will swap offensive and defensive players more freely in close games

  13. Rapa_Nui

He gives up so many points in defense that if he doesn’t drop 25 on the other hand, he is a liability.

At least Gabriel tries to play defense, he just can’t stop fouling. Bryant is barbecue chicken on D!

  14. mypeaksandmyfreaks

sengun was feasting on his carcass on both ends, blocked his shot like he was an infant.

hope he plays well when AD gets back

  15. Eric___sal

They also cut his mins in half so he he’s getting half his stats now

  16. niknokseyer

He’s good offensively but not defensively.

  17. I think y’all are underestimating Sengun. He’s gonna be awesome for a long time. TB can bounce back no problem

  18. EarTotal3258

He’s also being exposed by teams with better centers (i.e Christian Wood, Embiid, Sengun). Him being a defensive liability is decreasing his playing time

  19. AntSmith777

I picked him up in fantasy after the Sac game and he stopped producing.

  20. Gristle__McThornbody

His defense is getting exposed. I still think he can work well next to AD but he is likely a back up center in this league.

  21. T Bryant, like everyone on the lakers, benefits so greatly from lebron being the facilitator. Take lebron out and the whole team gets a lot worse.

  22. little_parrot

Thomas Bryant offers some really good things mostly on offense and is bad at defense. He’s going to have off nights/periods, especially in an oversized starter role.

  23. BoysenberryJunior294

On a good team, this dudes a back up. We have high expectations put on him cause we have no depth.

  24. Pikminious_Thrious

My Wenyen Gabriel stocks are on the rise.

Dude can at least stay in front of his guy even if he fouls too much.

Bryant just consistently gets run around and can really only defend other slow bigs or spacing bigs

Would rather have a bad foul than a free basket

  25. He’s fine. Thing about him is he works so hard that even when he has “bad games” he still affects the game. Which is what you need.

  26. Bvantheaverageman

His defense was always a question from the start, people are just so reactionary on this sub and were hyping him up way too much when his offense was shinning. He would be a great backup behind Myles Turner 👀

  27. GlassOnion25

It was nice when they played well but all the other guys besides and Lebron and AD are exactly that, other guys. U hope to have enough to carry them along and in ADs absence everyone has stepped up but u can only sustain for so long when you’re reliant on two superstars and one of them is out and the other misses a game or 2 every once in a while. U take what u can get. It’s why we need a trade for a more consistent role player

  28. PigsOnTheWings

He’s a really poor defender and gets exposed against quicker teams. His man to man defense is the # thing he needs to improve. I think he’s a totally serviceable backup C, but not a starter we should throw significant money at.

  29. theseustheminotaur

Guy is struggling defensively. He looks confused out there what to do. With experience I figure/hope that he’ll work out of that and stop being bullied by literally everyone.

  30. TorontoRaptors34

He can def start bro he just needs AD to help him on defense. Im sure he can be a great help defender. He’s a role player he’ll have ups and downs.

  31. ChimoBear

He’s a good offensive player and outplaying his contract but holy cow it’s tough to watch him play defence. He has a murderous combination of being slightly undersized but also not sturdy or mobile. He made Sengun look like prime Kareem out there

  32. KingRagerBlade

Lmao y’all going through the same roller coaster us Wiz fans went through. TB is a great offensive center but has absolutely no defensive capability unfortunately. I think he’s a solid backup center when you need high scoring. The 10 mil a year contract we gave to him was about what he worth.

  33. Matt32490

He’s been great on offense but he’s complete ass on defence. Not sure why a lot of people were basically saying give him a max.

  34. Dude rolled his ankle two days ago and plays back to back. Chill

  35. You guys are so binary and extreme. It’s like either he’s a god or trash. Ugh..

He’s playing well above his contract. His defense is horrible…. no doubt, but he’s still playing solid for a vet min contract.

  36. I was at the game yesterday, and he was off on offense which isn’t the worst cause he can give us 15 and 10. He’s still good there.

But he was blown by every single time by Eric Gordon of all people, and Sengun dropping 30 on him doesn’t help his case.

I guess the instincts aren’t there. Who was very impressive was Wenyen. He can’t guard centers but he’s good against wings and won’t let guards blow by him often, and he baited blocks yesterday.

  37. relivesa

Sadly it is. Get AD back. Give Wenyan and TB 25-30 minutes, and you have a decent backup big man

  38. SgtSiggy

No hes a good player, we just need to control our hype that hes a messiah for this broken roster

  39. CabbageIsLife-H

2 bad games and yall flip your opinions

  40. _MambaForever

Dude has two off games and we’re saying stuff like this..
