Here’s to re-signing Jak 🙏
The pick and roll with Scoot will be nasty

Just cause we are ASKING for 2 firsts, doesn’t mean we wont take less.
If Jakob is willing to negotiate with us in free agency this summer (regaurdless of what happens) it’s a great move.
Sean Elliott style, trade him away and then resign him the next season.

Honestly, my personal read on this situation is this – the Spurs don’t actually don’t want to trade Poeltl, and are setting an arbitrarily high price. The leaks about them being exciting to have him play as a starter w/ Sochan + possibly Wemby feel like the actual strategy they’d like to go for. Personally, I’d like to see a Jak/Wemby/Sochan front court, since we’ve had an undersized team for the past 5+ years. The truth of the matter is that regardless of who trades for Jak, they’re trading for his Bird rights more than anything else.

I mean if you can get it sure.

Two firsts means you want the guy being on the floor in the final minutes in the 4th. I just don’t know what CONTENDER has him on the floor then. Warriors? No. Grizz? No. Clippers? No picks. Pelicans? No. 76ers? No. Celtics? Doubt we trade again. Nets? No picks. Bucks? No.
Soooo a middling team is gonna give picks for a defensive paint clogging center? Don’t think so. Think the spurs keep him.

Nobodys going to trade a first round pick for a slow footed center who cant guard pick and roll with no offensive game on a league worst team defensively
