What a bunch of DAWGS. We played like a team tonight for sure, we absolutely were cooking. Great team win, great job y’all.

No one cares but I found a new scoring-related stat where the Jazz are undefeated: now 7-0 when holding a double-digit lead at half.
Here’s more numbers related to how tonight went:
8-2 when scoring 35+ in 1st quarter
2-3 when holding a double-digit lead at the end of 1Q
16-7 (.696 W%) when leading after 1Q
17-3 when scoring 60+ at half
17-5 (.773 W%) when leading at half

Olynyk’s reaction has to be a meme. Glad to see Conley play like he did in Memphis. Walker Kessler for all rookie first team, Lauri for All NBA, and All Star

If He is not an All Star, Why have the game?

The Jazz are back to 0.500
Lauri Markkanen is playing at an All-NBA level
Walker Kessler is the steal of the draft and a future DPOY
Ochai Agbaji is transforming into a legit 3&D wing before our eyes
Mike Conley looks spry and rejuvenated
We have approximately four billion draft picks
It’s a good time to be a fan of this team

GAME NOTES:
Welcome back sir Lauri Bird Markkanen. Never missed a step. 34-12-2 blocks on great shooting splits. 6-8 from 3, 11-20 from the field. Have yourself a game! Also had a wonderful little YAMSANDWICH on Zubac, your weekly poster. “it was okay” says Lauri
We had an electric stretch late in the 3rd quarter where Agbaji had a great block on a dunk, then Sexton came down and had a monster dunk on the other end.
A few plays later, Hardy challenged an offensive foul on Sexton. I agreed with the challenge, not the unsuccessful call of it, but I moreso liked how Hardy was willing to trust his player with a call like that.
Walker Kessler another double double, proving once again that he needs to start the remainder of the season. 15 points 11 rebounds (4 offensive) 2 blocks. A great game from the rook as usual
Overall a great shooting night by Utah. We’ve struggled shooting the 3 recently, but we shot an incredibly this game all around. 51.7% from the field, 59.4% from 3.
We never lost the lead at all this game, which is a first for this season! Great win from beginning to end.
Malik Beasley had a bounceback shooting game of sorts. 3-6 from 3. Above all, I’m glad he is driving in more. I said it last game thread, and I’ll say it again. The more he drives the better his shot will be. Still need to see him move the ball and get some assists.
Conley had a great game per usual. 17 points 9 assists no turnovers is chefs kiss. 5-6 from 3, 6-8 from the field. He helped maintain momentum early in the fourth when the Clips were sniffing a comeback by hitting two straight 3’s, then driving in and hitting Vando for a corner 3. A few plays later did the same thing, but found a cutting Vando for a vicious slam. HOT TAKE ALERT, Conley is our second best player. Nobody on our team but him can do what he does. His assist to turnover ratio is nutty, 4.6 and second highest of all starting PG.
Sexton didn’t shoot the best, just 3-9 and 0-1 from 3, but he is so energetic off the bench. He comes in and the momentum immediately swings in our favor. He is fearless and I love it
Agbaji another great defensive game. I am in love with this rookie. 2-2 from the field, not the best box score stats, more the eye test type of stuff I see in Agbaji.
Vando played just 16 minutes, but was pretty impactful. Hit a 3, had 3 assists and 3 rebounds, and scored 9.
Rudy Gay had 12:45 more minutes of gametime than I’d give him
Clarkson only shot the 3rd most shots on the team tonight behind Lauri and Beasley. He shot alright, 5-11, 2-5, but a major development with him has been his passing, and his ability to get fouled on 3 point shots lol. I think he is leading the league in fouled on 3 attempts.
Overall a great team win. Passed the ball (26 assists) and didn’t turn the ball over as much as we are used to (8 turnovers). Again, a good, sound team win from beginning to end.

Nice to win by a comfortable margin for once but man… when it’s a double digit lead for most of the game, Holly has wayyyy too much time to ramble

Lauri is averaging 29.4 PPG and 8.8 RPG in his last 16 games on 51/44/91 shooting. That is top-10 player in the league stats.

Clips fan with a few tought here:
– Lauri is an All Star. We had no answer for him.
– Kessler is so good on both ends. Viewed as a defensive specialist but he has such a good touch around the rim. It’s nice to have that option where you can throw the ball to your center and he can score with a move or 2. His offense caught my eye. Good rim protector but Zubac did get him a few times in the post. Kessler did block him a bunch of times. I think Kessler can improve his post defense but Kessler is still a really good defender.
– Conley is so good in the pnr with Kessler/Vando. He got so many points when he got his big man rolling. Absolute sniper too. I think Utah keeps him at the deadline. They don’t really have anyone that can playmake like him.
– Beasley and Clarkson don’t miss. Snipers.
– I will say it was really easy for some of our guys like Powell to bait/draw easy fouls from your young guys. Ogbaji (or however you spell it) and Sexton were common offenders. Utah might have to shorten their rotation because of that in playoffs.
Overall, Utah had really good ball movement and generated so many open looks. Utah’s a well oiled machine. Felt almost impossible to get stops because of that. Every shot Utah took was a good or open look.

Nuggets not helping our lottery pick along with the Jazz back to winning is making me sad.
