Okoro will be our OG in a few years. Don’t get rid of him

He’s not gonna shoot like THIS forever but I’m hoping he can at least become average from the three point line.

He needs to shoot more 3’s and he’s had stretches like this every year of his career and it’s never stuck.

Imo Okoro will be a really good player for us for many years, but I feel like until he plays like this consistently, he hasn’t quite arrived yet.

Give him another year or two, he’ll be a starting caliber player. He’s only 21.

  5. Wasn’t even mad at this loss because he has shown great improvement yeah it might dip a little but I think hes been showing flashes of the perfect fit

Anyone else want to make a claim about Okoro with no stats to back it up? Because I have the stats and I’m here all day 😎

Look I believe in him long term but acting like a 15 game stretch of good 3pt shooting is enough to prove we don’t need a real 3 and D wing badly in this offense you’re crazy. Not to mention, even in this 15 game stretch he’s only averaging 2.6 3PA per game…. That volume makes this argument even more delusional

Seems like he’s coming into form. Just let him keep shooting and boost his confidence

Because Okoro is a guard. There is a reason why the raptors have our number. We are a team of dudes shorter than 6’4 and taller than 6’11. They are a team of dudes strictly 6’8. The mismatches from being that switchy can be devastating

All we need is patience…we need no trades

What about the fact that he no longer plays good/exceptional defense? Last year his guarded opponent shot 42%, this year it’s at nearly 49%. That’s a bad trend.

Furthermore, acting like a few games stretch, where he’s left more wide open than your mom’s vagina, is indicative of him being a good shooter is just naive. He was good last night, obviously, but he’s getting these shots with no one within 10 ft of him. Do you really think that’ll continue? Do you really think his 3P% will stay high once teams start respecting him? What about in the playoffs? Would you rather have a veteran who’s done it before and still be reliable down the stretch and in the playoffs? What about a guy who’s not slacking on defense?

Still not sold because it isnt high volume, if he shoots 5 3s in the next 20 games and makes around 38% then im sold

Despite how well Okoro is playing—and he’s been very good—he still passes way too many open shots.

He doesn’t shoot on volume. He’s averaging about 4 3PA projected over 36 minutes the last month.

That’s not enough for a guy shooting 50% from deep. You would think his confidence would be brimming.

It’s a mindset change, and that’s more difficult than developing the new skills themselves.

Even last night, he was hot as hell and only took 6 shots. 4 threes. He needs to hunt his shots. A guy that hot should’ve put up 6-7 3PA.

He’s definitely a rotation piece, but we also need some size. So we still need that 6’7+ 3&D wing even as Okoro develops.
