The league view of what the Knicks rosters is makes this franchise unable to make a single move. Our players have zero value according to bs like this.

i don’t think it would be terrible if quick wasn’t a good defender. but he’s become a true 2 way talent, and deserves to have his value reflect that.

I might get downvoted but if it was unprotected I’d do that. You are talking about a Lakers team post Lebron with a team built around AD who can’t stay healthy

Considering some of the absolute crap trades that get posted in here, this is extremely reaonsable. If IQ hadn’t been playing better the last 2-3 weeks I’d do it

So we trade our only depth piece for a pick and another mid player. Why?

  6. spaceninj

Why are so many people defending this trash? You are all obsessed with picks.

Funnily enough, I liked Marks’ second trade in that column:

A three-team trade with San Antonio, New York and Phoenix. The Spurs receive Dario Saric, Evan Fournier, a 2023 top-14-protected first (via Washington) and a 2024 top-14-protected first from Phoenix (will turn into a 2024 and 2025 second-round picks if not conveyed). Phoenix will receive Jakob Poeltl and Cam Reddish. New York will receive Jae Crowder and Josh Okogie.

id do obi for a top 6 protected lakers pick tbh

Top 7 nah. I’d be tempted if it was totally unprotected though. Lakers have zero young talent and should be garbage in 2027. But we’re trying to win and if we replace IQ with Nunn our bench will go from bad to worse.

The lakers have nothing for us in terms of a trade they can kick rocks unless they want to move Lebron here.

Perfect we can use the pick to draft Knox’s younger brother Devin.

In this market it’s dumb to trade quickly and even more so for that rubbish package

  12. That top7 protected pick could be anybody, even an Immanuel Quickley

  13. I think the Lakers problem is three fold: 1. lack of talent outside of LeBron and AD, 2. AD in street clothes, AND 3. an aging Westbrook who will not hesitate to take big shots.

Adding IQ helps but giving up the pick leaves them even less space to maneuver.

  14. I would rather keep IQ rather than rolling him over into another pick. IQ is a really solid two way player and will make for a high end sixth man or a capable starter. I would rather try to trade Cam for a bench wing piece and some second round picks. Help the depth for this season and pocket some seconds which the team depleted their stock of in the off-season.

I am not interesting in taking a good young player on a rookie deal and dumping him for a pick that has a low probability of turning into as good of a player 4 years from now.
