I have a feeling DJ is gonna scuffle w one of our players in February idk why

Whatever ounce of respect I still had for DJ is totally gone

This one communicates the sense of entitlement pervasive through the whole interview. Dude is mad at Tony for leaving? Why? What did Tony owe you? F off
EazyBreezee
TP gave everything for the franchise, he didn’t owe you a damn thing

Something was always off about DJ’s personality but man I’m just glad we got a haul for him. Someone else’s problem now

Tony wouldn’t get out of his way but also Tony needed to stay and coddle him.

So… Did Tony not work with players when he visited the team after retirement like Duncan and Ginóbili did? Either that or Dejounte could’ve asked for Tony’s number if he wanted his input that badly. I remember DeMar saying that he wanted to “pick Ginóbili’s brain” and learn from him when he was traded to the Spurs… and then Manu retired shortly after… but DeMar didn’t say anything bad about Manu not teaching him anything, as far as I can tell.
If you watched the whole interview, a big thing he brought up a lot was mentorship. Specifically, people like jamal crawford. who spent personal time encouraging him on his path and offering advice. He grew up and developed in an environment were helping hands meant a lot to his development.
This is why he is big about the pro-am and giving back to the community. So when Tony didn’t do that for him, it’s not about entitlement. This is about values. To him, tony showed his character.

Stephen Jackson also calls Tony Parker the most selfish player he ever played with in this interview as well. A lot of takes in that one.

Still love Dj. DGAF. He was goaded into talking shit on Tony by Jackson. I get why everyone loves Tony, but its not like drama hasn’ followed him through his career. He’s no saint. Stop putting him on a pedestal. His comments of ‘I dealt with this injury, why can’t you, Kawhi?’ didn’t help at all during that saga.
DJ calling Parker petty is not worth shitting on him over. Its nothing, espesh compared to what he gave Spurs. yous are ridiculous.

the more DJ talks the more I’m glad we didn’t try to keep him around

FUCK DeJounte.
WTF is wrong with him and Kawhi man?
I really thought they’d anchor us for years and all they do is stab Pop and the organization in the back.

Looking forward to the rest of DJ’s career. Hopefully he can get to 4 championships too
