For me the Jokic favoritism always boiled down to middle aged white dudes relating to him. A chubby, slow, clumsy baffoon who throws routine passes with a little flair and plays no defense. That describes most of the dudes I played pickup with. Not to mention all the invented stats to sound smart to your buddies.
Then you have Embiid who is a 7 foot freak physical specimen and basketball savant. Cameroonian royalty, picked up basketball in like a week, social media troll.
And I like the Joker… But in an era of position less basketball there sure seems to be a lot of emphasis placed on his position, if he was a 6’3″ PG they’d be talking about stat padding

I’m actually over the Shaq comparisons. All they have in common is size/muscle, and even then Shaq still got up stronger than Embiid does. He’s way more closer to a Dirk/Duncan love child than he is to Shaq.
Embiid has the mid-to-3pt range that Dirk has, with the finesse and fundamental around the rim as Duncan did + his defense. Embiid rarely dunks (rightly so, because fuck risking another meniscus tear for a poster), and is actually great from the FT line. Wearing that FT Merchant label proudly.
