In a world of shitty apologies, that was a really good apology.

I hate the way r/nba immediately started clowning the Grizzlies just because Shannon Sharpe decided to get all in his feelings, demanding Dillon Brooks fight him and shit. But I can’t be mad at Shannon after he’s that genuine about regretting the whole fiasco.

It’s not a bad apology but it still feels hollow. You don’t need to fain praise towards Dillon and Ja. It is what it is, Shannon doesn’t vibe with our team. That’s fine, this team isn’t meant for him. It’s annoying that we are one of the two or three best teams in the league this year and we only get the attention of the mainstream media seemingly when dumb shit comes up revolving around take artists like Skip or Shannon, or half take artist – half triple single Draymond.

  3. That was a great apology and if nothing else I truly believe Sharpe regrets his decisions that night.

    Unexpected! Shannon Sharpe Goated again

  5. Internetology

People finna clown Shannon in here watch🤦🏾‍♂️

  6. Flash23451

Good as good as an apology will get, but your toxic fan base will still complain

  7. ZendeRRR

Fair play to Shannon. I have to admit I didn’t expect him to handle this is such a proper war. Hopefully now we can put this whole thing to bed.

  8. MisterNiblet

Man even apologized to his Stylist. Shit I would have too…I’ll never forget that ripped up granny ass sweater!

  9. iamkiwi_11

Shannon is back on my good side now as long as keeps clowning Skip as much as possible.

  10. mempho_maniac

He won me over, some people wouldn’t admit their mistakes and was a man about the situation and gave Ja his props. Still shoulda been thrown out though

  11. I am going to have a hard time forgetting “You don’t want these problems.” That was funny as heck but a good apology.

  12. muddyklux

Shouldn’t have to apologize. His Fandom just came out and that’s cool. He should have been thrown out

  13. Richard_Speedwell

I don’t know what everyone expects from formal apologies. Even though it was obviously written it was well said. How would he have apologized any other way? He’s on national tv.

  14. Thank you Shannon, now maybe our guys can move past this and start playing basketball again.

  15. BronchitisCat

    1. Wasn’t expecting any sort of apology to begin with
    2. When it said he issued an apology, was expecting to hear the standard “I apologize if you were offended by my perfectly acceptable behavior.”
    3. Turns out the apology was actually thought out and direct without trying to mitigate his role in the issue. This has earned some of my respect (for whatever that may be worth) and I accept his apology.
    4. Still afraid to even mention Aquamane.

Has more accountability than the dude across from him.

  17. thedrcubed

That’s actually a really good apology. He sounds sincere

  18. elsteve0

Good on him. Takes a man to admit his mistake and take responsibility for his actions.

I liked Sharpe a lot as a player and he’s occasionally okay on TV, but I’m sorry, this doesn’t cut it. You’re a grown ass man running on a basketball court trying to fight people young enough to be your sons. That’s not a lapse in judgment or getting carried away, that’s being an immature person. I hope he grows up, but I’ll judge that based on his behavior, not some bullshit apology on a TV show.

  20. VariableBooleans

I am a fan of Shannon and I think he’s a very level headed guy, so this is absolutely no surprise to me.

  21. tomatocat

I guess I have to do a second 180 on Shannon. I’m back to loving this dude I guess.

  22. TattedUpDasher

No opinion either way on the apology. I believe people’s actions and believe nobody’s words. Let’s see how he will carry himself going forward. Everyone is entitled to mistakes. If this incident is a one time thing, I have no reason not to move forward and forgive.

  23. I never liked shannon sharpe but I like this apology I accept it as a grizzlies fan 🤝

  24. imrosskemp

“*and lastly I want to be truthful, its what I stand by as a man, a father and a role mode, was it true when I saw Steven Adams approach me with that furiously.. I soiled my pants, yes Skip, thats true.*”

  25. I’m never gonna watch Shannon Sharpe’s show after the incident.

(Only because I don’t watch already and I can’t stand skip lol)
