Honestly Poeltl isn’t going to move the needle for this core. Especially if we are only trading GTJ. Poeltl is also looking for 80M/4 years so 20M.. don’t we need shooting. If this is the only trade we made and somehow keep FV. There’s no room in the paint. FV, OG, Siakam, poeltl, Barnes. Treadmill team.
I think we should really reconsider keeping Gary.

Trading for Poeltl makes absolutely NO SENSE whatsoever. If you trade for him you're COMMITTING to a frontcourt of Scottie/Pascal/Yak. That leaves 2 STARTING spots, both of which would ALREADY have career 37+% shooters at (FVV/OG)….so are you replacing them with Steph & Klay or how exactly are you going to IMPROVE the shooting of the starting line up that was ALREADY doing bad with THREE shooters that shot over 37+%??
But now you're removing ANOTHER one for a complete non-shooter and it wouldn't make sense to trade the other two (Pascal/Scottie) — the move is truly a pointless one on every level other than a cheap MLSE gimmick to sell fans on the reuniting of "Yak & Skillz" while they save money from not needing to re-sign Gary while the hope to capitalise ($$$) on another short-sighted PlayIn/Playoff appearance (and nothing more).
If GTjr wants to stay in Toronto, then the Raps should keep him. That's a big if though

Why trade away our best shooter when our team needs more shooting….doesn't make any sense. I can't remember how many games we lost this year where we weren't able to buy a bucket in different stretches of the game…
