In Jonathan Isaac’s first game since the 2020 playoffs: 10 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals on 4-7 FG, 2-3 3PT in 10 minutes.

The Minister of Defense returned to NBA action for the first time since his injury in the 2020 bubble playoffs (904 days) and looked aggressive on both sides of the floor, scoring 10 points and notching 2 steals in 10 minutes.

Didn’t think he was real until today

  2. He’s on a 10 minute restriction fyi. He’s not coming back in.

I’m very curious what the Magic do the next 6 months.

They just have so much depth at the 4 and 5. Curious what their top 8 rotation will be going into next season.

I know he’s coming off a major injury but idk if I’ve ever seen someone with that low of a minutes restriction

Good for JI. Happy to see him back on the floor.

  6. SighHereIamAgain

That’s such a low minute counter damn not even 15

  7. I’ve seen enough. Converting to Christianity tomorrow

  9. Individual_Attempt50

nice to see him come back from injury

Really feels like the Magic could be the next surprise dark horse like the Cavs with one disgruntled star trade and consolidation on their talent. Not sure who that would be, maybe Siakam someday?

I was told by the kids here at r/nba that he didn’t care about basketball and wanted to be a Fox News analyst

  12. xGhost94

Y’all think Fox News gonna cover his return? lmfao

Good for him, always love a comeback story

  14. Mrr_Bond

He looked pretty comfortable for someone who hasn’t played in ages. Some might even say he looked completely healed.

People forgot about JI but he is showing his clear dominance that made him the face of this team even with AS Vuc.

We’re a backup 5 and an elite shooting backcourt player away from being a legit threat.

Feels weird to actually see him play games

Bro this dude was out for almost 3 years and still came back more aggressive than Ben Simmons, my god. Hopefully he will have a long and HEALTHY career now. Hate for dudes to stay injured, takes away from the game

Quite a performance from JI tonight! I think he’s earned some time off.

  23. Roy_8886

Good nickname, even if it’s ironic considering how the NBA does not allow the defense to perform their job

    Me reading this:

10 points: not bad for his first game (Vince McMahon phase 1)

4/7 FG, 2/3 3PT: oh damn that’s pretty good (Vince McMahon phase 2)

in 10 minutes: WHAT that’s insane (Vince McMahon phase 3)

Considering the depth of talent the Magic have, Dame really should consider joining them (by asking out) if he doesn’t want to join a contending team (he’s said before he doesn’t want to link up with other stars unless they join him where he’s at).

Imagine this starting lineup: Dame, Wagner, Isaac, Banchero, and Wendell. That’s a NICE starting 5, and if they could somehow get Udoka (idk what he did but as long as it wasn’t heinous (tho having the gall to cheat on Nia Long can be deemed heinous), you got to consider getting him to be the coach for your team), I lowkey think this team suddenly skyrockets to a potential contender in the East. You can spend money in FA to fill out the bench given that the trade for Lillard will deplete the depth you currently have since Anthony, Suggs, Fultz, Bol Bol, and draft picks will have to go to get a guy like him…if you get a deep bench with that starting 5 (and they buy into Coach Udoka), I like the Magic’s chances.

Please tell me he’s actually being called that…
