Lots of hustle and heart, but only one ring in that pic. (Later, of course.)

I see a lot of hate for this time period, but back in 2015, after being complete shit since like 03, having winning seasons with good records, making the playoffs. It was a fun time. Yea the Wizards sweep was bad, but next year wasn’t, and the fact the 13/14 team even made the playoffs was such a surprise
Simpler times. Where we were just happy our team wasn’t total ass
thebestoflimes
Back when people on here would watch the games and hope the team would win.
Disclaimer: No offence to the whiney mf’s that wish for losses (you’re great people) but how about you just skip watching the games until we have a contending team so we don’t have to hear about it?

It’s better now. By a lot.

Amir and DD were such culture resets. I know with hindsight it was a mediocre time but man they were exciting times.
It was one of my favourite times to be a fan. Winning the championship set the bar higher. I probably care less about the results now tbh but this period was the ascension of how we got there.
Lots of respect to everyone in this photo.

Even if we sucked in the playoffs it wa fun being a fan of thw team. Good regular seasons where we exceeded expectations and the playoffs were crazy because we all knew we werent contenders but the little bit we could win was a joy to see

Ahh yes the year DeRozan injured his groin and Lowry had to carry for the whole year and had nothing left in the tank vs Wizards smh really thought Casey was gone for sure.

Yes, I’m a Fairweather fan. Yes, Kyle is the only person I can identify here

Is the only reason it’s simpler is because we were so used to being let down back then, and then we eventually won a chip?
I’d just boil it all down to our fanbase becoming much more entitled now. We’re in great shape to rebuild, or retool. We have the reigning rookie of the year, players that most teams covet as assets, and a multi year All NBA player. It’s all about perspective.
That was a nightmare year in the playoffs by the way.
LostPants7
Ehhhh idk if simpler is the right word lol

Fun young team to watch after being stuck with garbage for a few seasons, regardless of the postseason result

i miss Amir

Dude this team was even more frustrating than the one now. The only difference is most people in here weren’t watching back then lol

First time since we traded Vince that I actually wasn’t depressed watching Raptors ball.

That’s just your mind thinking it was a simpler time. I’d much rather be where we are than where we were back then, not only because it’s simpler now but because we’re closer to winning long term regardless of this season

Patrick Patterson. What a (Scene) points getter.

That team, starting with the year before, turned around our entire culture.
Raps were such a middling franchise for so long – sometimes able to ride a few stars like VC and CB4 to tiny glimmers of hype and success, but never enough to build momentum and keep them.
Then these guys showed up, brought their lunchboxes to work and played their hearts out for this city. That, combined with Masai’s genius and development of homegrown talent, completely renovated our standing in the NBA hierarchy.
That culture continues with guys like FVV, and that’s bigger than the win-or-else/what-have-you-done-for-me-lately gratification all the bandwagon jumpers since 2019 keep demanding.
If you know, you know.
