Kenny Smith says ’94 Rockets could've beat Bulls even with Michael Jordan | Draymond Green Show

The Houston Rockets winning back-to-back NBA titles when Michael Jordan retired from the NBA has led to one of the great debates in sports history: Would the Rockets still have won if Michael Jordan had played? Kenny Smith explains how Hakeem Olajuwon’s dominance and the Bulls’ lack of size before they acquired Dennis Rodman would’ve been the difference in the hypothetical matchup.

  1. Jordan fans need to appreciate 6-0. He could’ve ended 7–1 or 6-2 had he played straight through

  2. Dray you gotta pay for a direct internet line to the house. This choppy shit in 2023 is so unnecessary given the resources available

  3. I’m not sleeping on the freak but that championship dna is no joke. And Kenny they lost to Orlando cause jordan wasn’t in too too shape bro he didn’t have his legs for playoffs intensity

  4. Kenny right that the Bulls rarely had an answer for a dominant center

  5. Kenny Capp'n….. Yeah Hakeem killing whoever, BUT they still gotta mess wit MJ & Pip…….

Regular season is different…… Playoffs is when Phil does his thing…… COACHING MATTERS TOO!!!!!!! 🤔🤷

  6. You did the damn thing with this one. Jet was at one point, my favorite point guard when I was growing up. I had newspaper clippings with his picture on my wall, along with Mike. They played the Carolina games on Saturdays. I got to understand his aura when he came to what you would call the "highlight" floor at Turner. He changed the energy in the room all by himself. It was amazing. He shook every single person's hand in the room.
Jet is a wonderful verbal illustrator. I can listen to him all day long. He said Hakeem was a 6'10" Draymond with young Blake Griffin hops. The look on Dray's face was priceless. Many other great points.Young cats don't know how large Johnny Dawkins was back in the day. Him not being let in the barber shop is legendary. Go to YouTube and look up "Johnny Dawkins reverse dunk". That set the hoops world on fire, partly because it was against David Robinson, who was taking the scene by storm and also since he was only 6'2". LeBron has holes in his game. He said it but wasn't knocking him either. The letting go of GPII. His story about Jackson saying the Dubs we're going to the White House was money. So many try to say the Dubs we're so good it wasn't fair. Steph was gonna be traded? Dray a second round undersized power forward? Huh? I thought they were just always better than everyone. What's that Beyonce lyric " I woke up like this…" Thank you Jet for some truth amidst the fairy tales!
What I liked very much is that Draymond asked for advice. That is what old heads are for. It will never be more evident than when you yourself become one. Much love to the Jet!! Great interview!! And by the way, I saw them live in 94 against the Pacers in Indy, year of their 2nd chip. And to Jet's point about Hakeem before he became a devout Muslim, he meant Dream was both mean and nasty on the court. With all the smoke and let his hands go.
Well, trying something different. gonna put Brian Culbertson "The Journey" on repeat with the bass all the way up and get hyped for the Warrior game. I think they go off tonight!!

  7. Draymond:

    Great questions!
Good job digesting the answers and then following up. MOST interveiwers (like Colin) shut their brains and ears off to the guest.
