Part of reason is because the Heat were struggling mightily when the voting first started. Even I didn’t feel like voting at the time because we were playing terribly.
That being said, it’s a good sign he ranks high in players voting. Hopefully his performance on a National TV last game helps his case. He deserves it this year.
