Jaden Ivey Flashes Point Guard Development In Detroit Pistons Win Over Kyrie Irving, Brooklyn Nets

Jaden Ivey played what might have been his best game as a point guard all season, despite shooting just 5-12 from the floor. Ivey finished with eight assists and played with incredible pace en route to finding open teammates in a Detroit Pistons win over Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center.

  1. Idk why we have to get our ass beat in order to play well from start to finish but hey I’ll take it

  2. Thats my biggest issue with this coaching staff…
I see little to no growth or development from these young players

  3. Don't see how having IV handle the ball so much is gonna help him play alongside Cade. Make him catch and move without dribbling the ball. If u don't this will be wasted time. which exemplifies why I feel they have no plan

  4. Yeah. We win. How does this win help the future. We already know what the talent is on this team. Only thing that matters is having one of those 14% chance at Wembanyama. If we screw that up this season is a failure.

  5. We’ve compared Ivey to players like Ja, DWade and Westbrook but I think he’s showing more similarities to John Wall. John Wall had a tighter handle and was a legit PG but Ivey is a better 3pt shooter at this stage of his career then Wall was. I think if Ivey continues to work on his handle and pace he’s trending in a John Wall type role given the opportunity. He’s showing star potential that you can’t teach you just have to let him go!

The Ivey Duren connection is real they both know their the most athletic guys on the court and can beat their man whenever they want!

Duren is one of those guys that’s just built like that. He’s a stud but in this new small ball, soft, 3pt shooting NBA a player like Duren gets over looked; when in the past he would have went top 3 in the draft. All us old heads whose minds haven’t been tainted by the game today knew he was ready!

The recipe for success let our guards go to work, keep the game simple for Bey and encourage the development of our young guys instead of relying on vets to go iso. Even if we lose they’ll look good doing it en route to Victor! 😅

  6. I think We're watching the founding being build for either one of the greatest eras in pistons basketball, or the most disappointing. It's so excitingly terrifying lol

  7. Kind, maybe the Pistons listened to your last few podcasts 🤣😂. (Autocorrect had it saying *kind). SMH

  8. We needed this win. I truly feel like most of our players are out of position. If we had Bey at the 3 that would be perfect. Stew at the the 3. Knox at the 3. Playing big is a mindset thang. Just cause your tall doesn't mean your a big. We need more players with Detroit in there family tree.

  9. Ivey is definitely learning. He’s also taking less of those wild shots in traffic like he did in the beginning. Now if he can learn how to shift defenses a bit more and create for himself, then it’s over.

  10. Happy for ivey, but the pistons still suck and Casey still need to go. Nothing changed.

  11. I have prayed for this lineup!😃 Thank you lord!!!! Ivey at the Point pushes the ball at a great pace for this team and he can score which lead to all the assist he gave to Durham. Bring Stewart off the bench. This team was 11-37 it was overdue for a major lineup change!
Burks, Boggy and Bey are great shooters (simular to the way Golden State uses Curry, Thompson and Poole) so it will keep the defense honest and they don't know where the Pistons scoring is going to come from. This is a winning starting lineup that they can build on!! Keep this line up and grow it by winning and have Cade come back next season as a starter and move Burks to 6th man and this team can be very dangerous!!

  12. In case you all haven't noticed, the Spurs are now jockeying for that third spot. The easiest thing to do was lose. If we have one of the three stops and lose Wembanyama that's one thing but to take ourself out of it. That's inexcusable.
