I love Poeltl. I’m just nervous about having to re-sign him to a big contract.

But if we’re just grouping up our younger prospects like BBJ and Coffey (+contract filler like Wall), then I’d honestly just take best player available and worry about it later.

Find whoever values those guys as prospects as opposed to filler and deal with them.

Whenever I see what the Spurs want for him (was it one pick or two?) and what he expects to get paid moving forward (reportedly 20M per year), I’m even more grateful to have Zu locked up long term.

I thought Poeltl was a pretty good trade target. After watching him about 20 times in the last two weeks though, I don’t see what he brings to the table over Zu. …and I’m not a Zu fan. Oh, and the Clips aren’t going to trade for a starter for him to come off the bench.

I think Poeltl is better than Zu but I fear that we will get in the trap of having another slow big who plays deep drop on defense. I haven’t seen too many Poeltl games though

I just don’t believe the front office is going to invest that much in a center, let alone a back up.

It’s an interesting trade target. Truthfully I think the clippers should target getting a back up big on the buyout market.

I’m ok with this. Though I think we could do better.

If you trade Zu to SA though, Zu would have a statue next to Ginobili and Duncan.

Amir would have to be part of any such deal. Rather give them Preston if we have to give away kids to do the deal.

I hope we actually do trade Coffey, regardless who it’s for. He’s put in alot of work and deserves minutes on a team that’ll play him

I wouldn’t mind him as a backup center. He wants his money though I heard and we definitely shouldn’t pay him more then like 5 mil a season

  11. Exzibit21

This is definitely not happening. The only center they’d trade actual assets (Boston in this case) for is Myles Turner

There’s no reason to bring Poeltl when he’s basically the same as Zubac

I like it. Zu is rarely available in the playoffs, whether that be due to him being benched or in foul trouble. Him and Poe are different players too, Poe is a better offensive player, Zu defensive.

Poeltl dished out 9 AST against Denver earlier in the year, better hands & may have better chemistry with our guards.

Huge? They’re gonna dump their young players *and* trade picks for a guy that will barely find minutes in the postseason?

We’ll regret giving up Boston. Not as much as Shai, but he really should be playing more.
