I’m not sure about both, but if the right player is available, they might see the tax as worth the investment. Lebron has certainly held up his end of the bargain, but the market has to make it possible.
The lakers will probably have to pay the tax anyway, so they probably won’t care about getting under the tax. But that doesn’t mean they want to have a huge tax bill. They might pay the tax but try to pay a reasonable amount. It hurts competitiveness but that’s going to have to be the GM’s job to finagle.

FVV is a small guard who has had some nagging injuries… small guards typically fall off fast and hard… GT on the other hand is perfect starting 2 guard, and he’s young, so giving him a 4 year contract isn’t a big deal
