  1. Steven Adams is big for their rebounding and the way he frees up Ja on screens but they can also survive a stretch without him. KAT basically forced the Grizzlies to bench Steven Adams the entire playoff series last year and they were still able to dominate the boards and pull out wins. I think we’ll just need to see JJJ and Ja step up.

  2. Man, what is the proper assessment of Steven Adams? He's never been an all-star, and I don't think that's necessarily to understate his value. Is he just a solid role player, or is there some other piece of team composition that he fulfills?

  3. steven adams is so underrated he is such a great rebounder he is a monster on the offensive glass and he is such a great screen setter he knows what angle to set it creating a lot of open looks for whoever the ball handler is in pick and rolls and dribble handoffs

  4. Players shoot significantly better off adams assists, because he screens the defender giving the shooter more time, bane shoots 54% for 3 on adams assists. the grizzlies should struggle for 4 weeks and so far are 0-2 without him and grizzlies havent lost more than 2 in a row so far this season, until now.

  5. He's the coolest team mate ever and a great big man even with back injury 🙌 was a perfect pick up for Memphis and there young guys 👍

  6. I’m worried for my team. I also think the front office isn’t serious about the playoffs yet because this team absolutely needs perimeter depth that’s more than just Bane carrying the load. Our depth went away in replace for rookies and Z. Williams

  7. I love how I think I know basketball because of the history of NBA and then a player talks about plays and I realize how little I know about playing organized basketball 😅

  8. Ja got hurt and they went 16-2.
JJJr got hurt and they made it to the playoffs
Bane got hurt and they didn't miss a step
Steven Adams gets hurt and they're on a 4 game losing. Streak.
Turns out Steven Adams is the King of Memphis.

  9. Prior to the final play, GSW ran a variant of Spain pick and roll that got Klay to hit a clutch three, they're capable of running those plays without Steph, and Klay had made a bunch of shots already by the 4th quarter so he's got rhythm now. It led to his gravity luring the inbound defender, Morant, out of the paint to possibly deter the game winning shot. And yes, Poole's defender had TERRIBLE positioning, credit to Poole a lot for just cutting backdoor on him for the easy layup for the win

  10. Missing Steven Adams is huge, he is one of the best offensive rebounders in the game, and his his screens are a brick wall creating more scoring opportunities.

  11. Jj brother you looking slim? All good? You seem like the kind of dude who is dying but won’t tell no one. No shade btw just checking on my favorite podcaster

  12. If you wanna be entertained search “steven adams setting screens” compilation

  13. JJ blocks shots. Big deal,
    Blocks are overrated.
1st you don’t know if the shot you blocked was going in the basket. 2nd, your not guaranteed the ball after you block it. 3rd guys that block or attempt to tend to get them selves in foul trouble

  14. This is time for grizzlies bigs to toughen up and step up. This adversity is needed for depth improvement come playoff time

  15. This is why they won't win they are too young and inexperienced always make these mistakes that more veteran teams like warriors and clippers won't. Exactly what warriors did to Memphis and Dallas last year

  16. I swear, if Steven Adams is not the most unselfish player in the league, he'd be averaging 18 ppg, 16 rpg, 4 apg. You don't really see his impact on the stat sheet, but if he decides to fill those stat sheet he'd be filling them easily.

  17. Clickbait. Ya just said losing Adams is big at the end. The very end. Ya didn’t say anything about what he brings that they’re gonna miss. 🙄😂

  18. Stone Cold Steven Adams!! 1 beer what! Two beers what!

When Butler said he thought he was dead after running into Adams screen 😂

  19. Because all the fake tough guys on the Griz now have no one to hide behind.

  20. JJ please don't do the same clickbaity thing as other channels.

If you have Steven Adams in the title it should NOT be a 3s sentence at the end of the video.

  21. Yes, Adams is so underrated. He is actually one of the best defensive and smartest players in the NBA.

  22. No offense, but the video said: "Why losing Steven Adams is such a big deal," but you never say why in the entire clip. I mean, I can think of a number of reasons, but it is not in the video 🙂
I do love the enthousiasm for calling the Warriors / Grizzlies games and respect for going on pod right after a red-eye flight.

  23. Jj should try working 7, 12hour shifts, these celebs think flying on planes is daunting wait til an ammonia leak springs uo day 5 of your 12s

  24. To be fair, this is also pre-alotta things era (better understanding of exercise physiology and nutrition, more optimal equipment and training methods for hypertrophy, etc.). Great physiques, but for a natty today, this really should be above average. Alan Stephan's lat is the only body part in the picture that's for sure world-class. Built like a swimmer.

  25. Love the attention to detail. We need highlights along with it to see what they're talking about. JJ is super annoying when interviewing cause he talks too much, but when he does that analytical side of breaking down plays 🤌

  26. Golden state has their number . They can NOT beat GSw in 7. Keep adams and jjj on the floor . When all the chips are on the table u bet on GSw . Kuminga and wiseman are coming and they will add a dimension to this team the league is just not gonna be ready for . GSw will repeat . Adams is huge for this young team , but they are definitely not the real deal . No experience . Too arrogant and only one real ball handler in ja. Warriors have curry Poole green donte and even ty Jerome who can do that . Memphis is not that team . Period .

  27. Adams loss is huge. But also I have a huge question mark around Taylor Jenkins and his play calls. When the grizz were up by 10 in final quarter they kept slowing the play down to turtle pace and as a result the whole unit lost its offensive rhythm so the warriors get stops and get their own rhythm back on the offensive end. It’s the third or fourth time this has happened over the past fortnight and is painful to watch. Gotta keep playing and pushing the tempo cause the grizz’s halfcourt O is pretty average
