What point was Kerr trying to prove last night by sitting out the two best players on the court in JK and JP last night for the first 8 minutes in the 4th quarter

Not a Kerr hater but he isn’t making much sense these days with these rotations. Starting to believe he might have been more of a Mike Brown merchant than we thought.

Personally dont know if i want to do a trade but, if we do priority would definetly be defense. So my idea would be cheap backup defensive big in Biyombo (who is one of better rim prtectors) to get the load of Draymond and GP2 who proved to be really usefull in our system

    [Thoughts?](https://imgur.com/a/YasksoK)

Steve Kerr needs to draw up some plays for Wiseman and Kuminga too many times I see them in post with the mismatch but we go with contested 3’s most of the time. Use your big men when the 3 point shot ain’t falling Kerr!!!!!

Allegedly Naz Reid is available, but I have a hard time seeing the Wolves trade him right now given the jumbled standings and no KAT.

I’d still push in chips for OG. We’re such a small team, that OG would be the tallest guy in a lot of lineups, which still isn’t a good thing.

Yurtseven is just now coming back for injury, but he’s an upcoming restricted free agent, so I wonder if the Heat would take calls. I know they’d make Dedmon available. Dedmon might just be taller JMG at this stage of his career, but that’s sort of useful.

We’re so small at center that Serge might actually be a useful player at this point, but I think he’ll be bought out.

The Rockets have a million PFs but no real centers; would they part with Garuba? Buy low on one of their recent lottery guys?

Our perimeter defense has looked okay at times between Donte/Wiggins/Kuminga, but we’re looking a little gassed lately.

3&D wing who can guard shift guys and a center are still positions of need to me.

The loss is tough, but there were was a lot to take away from yesterdays game (with clips!). Main themes were great guard play, solid work by Kuminga, and our desperate need for quality frontcourt players.

    * Thought we did a great job of attacking Denver in ball-screens in a variety of ways. In the first quarter, Jokic is dropping too low, so [Curry gets an easy pull up](https://videos.nba.com/nba/pbp/media/2023/02/02/0022200783/97/4c557f38-aa6b-a8ce-7dcd-0d550d6048c9_1280x720.mp4) against him. A few plays later[ Poole stretches Jokic out further right](https://videos.nba.com/nba/pbp/media/2023/02/02/0022200783/127/bdfbee24-e237-86fe-426f-fcf8cd42412c_1280x720.mp4) to give JMG an open lane to roll into, easy assist to DVD. Later in the second, Jokic plays much higher on the screen so he doesn’t get burned by Steph’s pull up, [Steph goes right at him](https://videos.nba.com/nba/pbp/media/2023/02/02/0022200783/284/57bf0fec-3607-97e0-5563-db118fa6bf2e_1280x720.mp4) and gets fouled at the rim.

    * I thought Poole had a really solid game. Did a good job of running the offense without Steph, took care of the ball (0 turnovers!), and continues this months trend of playing better on defense. This clip cuts off the start of it, but[ Poole called for this JMG post-up](https://videos.nba.com/nba/pbp/media/2023/02/02/0022200783/145/07d4088c-27e7-ad94-32b6-27614d37f1ff_1280x720.mp4) which led to a Jerome layup – seeing him recognize and call out actions in the middle of possessions is really encouraging.

    * Kuminga looked really nice on offense. I thought he attacked space really well and it was a good representation of what he could look like down the line in terms of the type of shots – a mix of cuts, rolling to the rim, transition, the occasional iso drive, open 3s. His two drives ([drive 1](https://videos.nba.com/nba/pbp/media/2023/02/02/0022200783/320/aef3ff7a-d860-8cba-1c85-52a3f622a633_1280x720.mp4), [drive 2](https://videos.nba.com/nba/pbp/media/2023/02/02/0022200783/53/f09bf0a5-934c-aa23-3085-f047236e286b_1280x720.mp4)) really stood out. He has this bad habit of getting two feet in the paint and then stopping to pump fake or gather which lets the defense recover – none of that here. JoKu goes straight to rim in both instances and finishes

    * Our lack of frontcourt depth really shone through. JMG’s been decent as of late, and was solid during the first half, but that 3rd quarter stretch was really bad & a key reason we lost the lead.

    * Wiseman still doesn’t look like an NBA rotation big. A lot of the same bad habits are still wholly there – bad positioning in screen coverage, bringing the ball too low on catches, poor contests, always looking to post up. There were some decent moments, but were often overshadowed by his mistakes. Wiseman takes bad angles in drop coverage ([example 1](https://videos.nba.com/nba/pbp/media/2023/02/02/0022200783/176/1a6dcd60-e353-8f53-52ee-e230f1a3eec8_1280x720.mp4), [example 2](https://videos.nba.com/nba/pbp/media/2023/02/02/0022200783/552/4b024790-7c5b-7291-c2a9-b02f24f76b97_1280x720.mp4), [example 3](https://videos.nba.com/nba/pbp/media/2023/02/02/0022200783/182/17824f56-a028-69cd-eff8-558152092d8b_1280x720.mp4)). [Here he looks to post up bringing another defender](https://videos.nba.com/nba/pbp/media/2023/02/02/0022200783/205/d1766e99-2757-a18b-d851-e2f9d2e0a71b_1280x720.mp4) into the paint on Jerome’s drive. The Warriors guards missed him a couple times – [this moment stands out](https://videos.nba.com/nba/pbp/media/2023/02/02/0022200783/198/1749cea7-129f-01b8-a745-ee3b9b296450_1280x720.mp4), but Wise then spends the rest of posession trying to aimlessly post up.

    * Nuggets and Jokic did a great job of trapping ball screens in the second half – forced a couple of turnovers that way. Steph usually eats those actions up, but the lack of Draymond really stood out here as he’s always great at providing an outlet. DVD and Poole unfortunately just don’t have the passing acumen to get out of those cleanly without the easy outlet, and Nuggets took advantage.

This team needs a real center on the floor at all times. Looney or Wiseman have to be on the floor to grab boards. (Yes I know Wiseman isn’t a great rebounder, but he’s still big and still a better rebounder than anyone not named looney or Dray).

On the rare times we go Dray at small ball 5, we need to go with DDV or Kuminga instead of Poole.

At this point I’d rather just ride this season and retool this roster in the off season. I think it might be time to break the core 3. I know it’s blasphemous to think but this ain’t a championship team and you can say all you want about the surrounding pieces but vets aren’t locked in the way they have shown in years past. Dray seems to have one foot out the door. Klay trying to prove he’s still him. Curry trying to just keep everything together. Sure they can turn the switch on but I have yet to see a consistent run where they simply dominated. There’s lot of talk but not much executing on the floor. Early last season showed how capable this team could be and ended up with the chip. I don’t recall them having that kind of stretch even during the home stand.

Sure if the Dubs won some of those games they just gave away the narrative would be different. However, you can say that with a lot of teams. It’s one thing to say we are missing pieces but doesn’t matter if we have the main guys are making the game costing mistakes. There’s too many agendas going around this team and chemistry is just off imo. Being a .500 team running your vets to the ground, not giving young guys opportunity to develop, and playing two guys that may not even contribute in playoffs is not a recipe to win a championship.
