It’s a mix of unfocus and Kerr deciding to throw in some wacky lineups including the Steph/Klay/Poole lineups. And in clutchtime we have those 3 guards and draymond and sometimes looney, sometimes DDV instead of Wiggins.

I laughed so much watching this
It’s so fucking true
They just have explosive diarrhea over themselves every 15 minutes or so for no fucking fathomable reason
First 30 games it was the bench, now the culprit is the vets I’m fucking tired of watching them down the stretch of a game. Act like you’ve played basketball before in your life.

Finding that will and fire – especially after last year is tough. There’s a reason not many teams get back-to-back championships.
This happened with the Giants in 10, 12, 14 where they were so obviously gassed after winning the chip it took a year to get their championship-level focus back.

Kerr has his head up his ass this year with these lineups. Power struggle between the core 3, Bob, Kerr, and the FO are really showing.

FO wants all J team but Kerr hates J’s and said no

Funny thing is, at the start of the season, we had several wins, where we came back from being significantly behind and Steph was leading the league in 4th quarter scoring. It’s not coaching, it’s not minutes, it’s not rotations in the 4th quarter. It’s our core, with Steph at the helm, who needs to figure it out and not throw games away. We also need Wiggins to find some semblance of his former self. And in the meantime Kuminga has grown. So I honestly believe our ceiling has been raised, compared to the beginning of the season, it’s just not manifesting consistently.

It’s weird to me how mental the game of basketball is. People say momentum isn’t an actual thing, but watch enough games and you can’t deny it — turnovers, bad defense & poor shooting are all contagious. When a team gets on a roll, they hold onto the ball, make stops & hit their shots. When things start to slip away, the wheels fall off. I don’t know what the secret sauce is to keep a team focused and sharp when they hit a wall. Whatever it is, this team had it last year, but this year, not so much. Maybe they’ll hit a different gear after the All Star break? Closer to the playoffs? Hope so.

I’ll give the core the benefit of the doubt. The championship hangover is still lingering. They literally have nothing to prove anymore. Hence, the lack of urgency is showing. My hope is that after the break they’ll start to get serious and limit the mental lapses.

It’s the most baffled by a team I can remember, other than the Shaq-Kobe Lakers after their first ring. Even they never fucked around quite like this (but also didn’t have the level of parity league-wide, and the level of top-end MVP level talent there is currently). If they get their heads together, they clearly can go all the way again. At least to the Finals. But as of right now, they are literally giving up exactly as many points as they score, to one decimal place, and are the worst road team, and also the least-clutch team in the league. Maybe this will be our Last Dance after all.

It’s hard to stay focused for 48 minutes 82 games after you’ve had so much success. That’s all that comes down to its focus.
part of focus is hunger. And once again, it’s hard to be hungry after so much success.
