I hear his arguments. I love Kyrie the player but I’m scared of Kyrie the batshit crazy and unpredictable loonie. We indeed need talent and pairing Kyrie and Luka would be amazing but the two main drawbacks I see are : 1. Kyrie does not play a lot of games a year and I would not want to be in a Porzingis situation again. 2, he will 95% bolt to the Lakers anyway in the off-season if we acquire him.

Unless by some miracle, I don’t want to trade for Kyrie.
Unless the offer is something along the lines of Bertans, THJ and Bullock, I don’t want to trade for Kyrie.
Unless Kyrie sees a psychologist, psychiatrist, and neurologist, I don’t want to trade for Kyrie.

This guy has “crypto-currency energy”.
“Man, you just gotta do it, opportunity, great chance, no brainer. There are risks, I know, still gotta do it now.”
“Mom, I lost all my money, the girl I never deserved anyway dumped me, I had to move out because I can’t afford the rent anymore, can I please move into the basement?”

I don’t see much of a downside myself.
Only superstars Mavs will ever get is most likely superstars that’ll desperately want out somewhere else. Which means he’ll have some sort of baggage/question marks over them. Mavs as an org and fandom will just have to deal with that.
Absolute worst case scenario he bolts in the summer and the only thing we get out if it is some service on court and a contract or two off the books that wouldn’t have been otherwise, which has its upsides. Half this sub is itching to blow it up in some way, this could be that.
