    “have the fourth-rated defense, per Cleaningtheglass.com, allowing just 110.8 points per 100 possessions. [1]

    The team’s offense overall ranks 13th, scoring 114 points per 100.

    Their +3.7 point differential ranks sixth overall.

    Slide Thybulle onto the floor and:

    they hold teams to a crazy-low 103.1 points per 100, a 99th percentile clip.

    the team actually scores 117.3 points per 100 with No. 22 in the game, three more points than their season-to-date 114 points per 100 overall. (You can be totally skeptical about the offense being better with him out there despite the data, but it’s definitely not worse!)

    Their differential skyrockets up to +14.2.”

    Because he’s only played blowouts for a majority of the season

    Dont show this stat to national writers or they’ll vote thybulle mvp

  4. Gotta admit, he’s been a little more aggressive on the offensive end lately which I love. A part of me thinks he’s trying to build his trade value up knowing other teams are sending ppl to watch him as the deadline approaches. Regardless the reason, hope he keeps it up and gets more minutes

    That’s because when he’s playing well he plays more.

    When he’s playing bad he barely plays.

    Trading Thybulle would be a mistake, I get he is a weak one dimensional offensive player but his defence is going to be crucial against the elite teams in May. We aren’t beating the Bucks or Celtics without some great perimeter defence against their wings. PJ is too slow, and Melton is too small to match up against the bigger wings. Don’t fuck this up Morey.

  7. The anti-Matisse circlejerk is fucking relentless, our own fanbase piles onto it too. Now everyone is just throwing him into trade packages at his lowest ever value for whatever random role player’s name comes up.

    Like you would think he’s just bricking shots and gambling on steals all game if you read the discourse around him. And then you watch him play and he’s an intelligent defender and usually defers shots to his teammates, but can still space the floor.

    It’s simple

    * Step 1: Play Matisse

    * Step 2: Matisse wrecks opps shit

    * Steps 3: Profit

    The shots been looking pretty clean lately can’t even lie. Even when they don’t go in it looks like it has the makings of a solid shooter

    I’ve really come around to him the last few games. He’s honestly even started to look playable on offense recently. Handling w/o freaking out, good cutting, and been even looking decent when he has to shoot.

    I’d love to somehow get a backup 5 without sacrificing Thybulle.

  11. Mr_Booty_Bandit

    Yeah because he literally has to share the floor with really good players or our offense gets exposed. Not to mention he gets saved for very specific situations

    Obviously that’s gonna inflate his on/off

  12. WraithTwelve

    Not even a huge tisse fan but it’s obvious he’s been outplaying his minutes lately and should get more to see what happens.

  13. packimop

    he should be getting 20mpg and more when tucker is ineffective such as against the magic.
