    W. DLo and Naz post deadline extensions gonna hit different

  2. Can’t tell if this is we want to extend him. Or KAT is gonna miss even more time than expect.

I don’t believe any smoke from anyone until after Thursday PM. What’s said and what is ultimately done are often totally different.

Whenever someone doesn’t trade a star to the Lakers, we always hear it’s so unfair teams are asking too much of the Lakers in return. Maybe the Nets thought Westbrook was terrible and Dwindle is a better player with a better contract that can either be kept or dealt for more assets.

Not sure I love this, don’t really see the point in keeping all 3 centers and this is probably the last time you can get value for Naz

Would be idiotic to pay naz 10m then kat comes back and he is a 3rd stringer not playing

  7. It makes sense, most of the smoke is from other competing teams. We can’t afford to get worse in a trade and offloading Naz Reid for the sort of packages you can expect for a serviceable, expiring, borderline-starter big is probably a young project + 2nd round pick.

If we’re trading him, it’s probably attaching assets to get better. We may still extend him, but it’s not asset mismanagement to use a good expiring player for a playoff run.

It could be a smokescreen but the Wolves have enough of a use for Naz the rest of the way barring an overpay he’s our own rental in a way. Assuming the Wolves have no interest in going into the tax it just affords them the flexibility of seeing how the cap plays out. It also doesn’t preclude a S&T this off-season. Even if he gets close to the full MLE exemption teams near the tax would be interested in a S&T so they aren’t limited to the tax apron.

It turns out we’ve needed every center we’ve got so I don’t see any reason to move him unless we’re getting something really good in return tbh.

Naz is a big part of team chemistry too.

I say give him that nice little 10 mil deal and give yourself a future with Naz or a longer period of time to find a trade partner after the year if you still think you can find something else.

Enormously off topic but I wish we would find a way to swing for Jaden’s Brother in Charlotte. Having another defender his size would be amazing.

Not a fan at all of the $10 mil number I’ve been hearing for Naz.

If this were the wolves roster of last year, I’d be all for giving Naz 10 mil.

    But for a 3rd center that’s a lot.

With ANT and Jaden extensions coming up, and DLo possibly coming back as well, it’s too much to spend on Naz.

  12. That jersey is getting bought upon extension fellas

  13. I kind of wonder if Bones not playing lately made the FO reconsider trading Naz for him if that had any truth to it.

Good. I mean how many trades and injuries are we gonna have to go through until we actually let the team mesh for a chance?

I ordered a Naz Reid jersey that hasn’t come yet so he better stay for a while 🤞🏻😰

I’m into this. He will be more valuable as a trade asset and easier to move as a 30/3 years or 20/2 yrs

I don’t think Naz’s value will tank. His development rate is pretty amazing. I can only see him get better and they’ll be forced to give him *some* minutes. Plus so many teams need a backup center

I wouldn’t mind keeping him long-term either. He’s great for the locker room, is Jaden’s best friend, works hard, can shoot and has an impressive handle, can play the 4 and has great character (a criteria TC highly values when drafting and signing players). It’ll be costly having that much money for centers but whatever, we need all of them

The lack of movement on either trading or extending Naz and D-Lo worries me a lot. The last thing we need is to waste more value if we truly are planning to go all in.

Didn’t this same podcast episode also say that the Clippers are jonesing for DLo?
