Jaden Ivey Has Impressed In Newfound Starting Point Guard Role For Detroit Pistons

It’s been five games since Dwane Casey benched Killian Hayes for Alec Burks in the starting lineup, making Jaden Ivey the lone point guard on the floor. The 2022 5th overall pick has impressed in these five games, showing a level of maturity and growth on the floor. Along with Ivey’s improvement, Saddiq Bey may have found the role he’ll be in for years to come in Detroit.

  1. I know people say that you shouldn't keep bench guys around, but in todays nba you NEED depth. Unless it's some major injuries every single year there are going to be injuries to key guys unless you have very lucky players. Hell cade is out now, bagley, other key guys in and out. We could use a guy like bey who yes, could play off of the bench but if asked can play as a starter sometimes. I don't care what anyone says, look at every team and look at key guys going down for more than 20 games. It's almost every team and unless your team is deep or has a top 3-5 player, it'll hurt your standings or other playoff games.

  2. I would love to see the Pistons send Killian to the Cruise for a few games if possible. Maybe his shooting gets better

  3. Bey can be a starter on a winning team but it depends who the other four starters are. But I agree bringing him off the bench is more seamless.

I do think that Bey can be a decent defender at power forward. Not of quick wings though.

  4. Truth is Pistons need a real good look at Ivey playing PG before the offseason. We’re going into a guard heavy draft with the possibility of landing SCOOT HENDERSON; if the Pistons land Scoot the competition for starting guard besides Cade is going to be exciting! Unfortunately for Hayes he’s had his time to try an secure that role, now he’s on the bench pouting instead of balling we don’t need that type of energy on the team. The NBA is a business you have to compete, perform and produce nothing is going to be handed to you. I.T. said it best, “Stay paranoid because someone’s always coming for your spot.”

I love how Beys been playing but I’d still shop him for a player like Jared Vanderbilt from Utah. We need defense and versatility; when healthy we have enough scoring!

Diallo has had a nice run but we can definitely get better, I’d move him. Diallo’s biggest struggles are shooting and IQ!

  5. I wonder why Killian playing like trash off the bench… is it really that big a difference from starting??

  6. Flopping is not a skill… we don’t need to do what everyone else does. It make the games hard to watch when guys always flopping

  7. Just because I always like bringing this up, Ivey is shooting a full percentage point better from 3 then Benedict Mathurin.

  8. Man u have to learn these are just players anything might happen with Weaver as GM.

U steady say Killian can do anything and yet Bey is limited?

Bey is still developing adding the dribble drive to his game. DeAndre Hunter is not consistent as Bey but Atlanta is happy with him. Harris is averaging 16pts a game most teams smalls are around 16pts @ game. Last time I looked he's avging 4 rebounds and 3 assists a game.
Man u got to be more unbiased about these players ur dead wrong about Bey he is third or fourth on the team in steasl and no body kills him he's had several 9 rebound 20pt games if Hayes did that u'll be pissing ur pants.

I judge players on their play without Bey they have 3 less wins. and they platoon the hell out of him and he still does 20pt games on 28 minutes on 16 shots last night he had 25 on 12 shots.

Time for u to just say I was unfair about my critique of Bey and he's a good growing player who might avg 18pts @game on 14-16 shots. He's the 5th most productive player in that draft behind Edwards Ball Bane and Maxey. Drop the feelings and see.

  9. Great show bro. I agree with you on Saddiq's role should be coming off the bench scoring. Ivey has been playing well and Hamidou is our energy. We need a 6 10 guy next to Duren

  10. It will be interesting to see if Doncic and Kyrie can get along. Their personalities and playing styles might clash. I don't blame Dallas for taking the risk though. They needed to do something and Kyrie can play.

  11. You said Bey doesn't do anything besides score. What else can Boge do?? Also Boge has set him back he gets shots and even brings the ball up. Where he never did that in utah. You fans always rush players to develope. He is getting fouls because he can put the ball on the floor he added that year 2. The team should give him more post up plays and shots coming off pin down his mid is good to
