Don’t want it to go unnoticed that every time James Wiseman scored, it was because Jonathan Kuminga actively got him involved and the ball. One pass into the paint, One pass into the post, and told him to go post up to get the ball from Ty Jerome. Wiseman actively wanting it shows just as much.

  1. Kuminga looking out for him in garbage time.

But also, Kuminga got a couple turnovers forcing it to Wiseman. It’s why Wiseman doesn’t get as many touches as many people think he should because he’s not always “open”.

Viewing Wiseman’s baskets without context are simply tantalizingly and smoothly magnificent.

This, in a nutshell, is the justification to keep Wiseman and not trade him. People in the media act like he’s a bust. He’s not a bust, no way. A complete NBA level offensive skill set is already there, he’s incredibly skilled for a man his size; he can post, face the basket, can do it all.

He can’t get minutes because of his defense and rebounding, two things that will get better as he continues to grow into his body and get reps. I don’t see a universe where he doesn’t grow into at least an above average center, and those have a lot of value, particularly ones who won’t disrupt the offensive flow by being non-factors.

If the NBA level offensive game weren’t already there, and if his weaknesses weren’t things that will improve in the natural course of time with reps and just growing up, I’d probably want to trade him. The question is: can you get something for him now that’s better than that obvious upside?

Hey look, a 7 footer with some sort of skill and talent! Let’s use him to score!!! Kerr- can you set a screen? 🤦‍♂️😂

Put Wiseman on the hornets and he’s an effortless 20PPG guy.

Wiseman simply needs time and reps. Are we in the position to make that happen? Idk

JK and Wiseman are tight so it’s nice to see JK wanting to feed the big man. He needs minutes to get better or the team needs to decide if they want to trade him.

It would be stupid to trade Wiseman now. His value cant be much lower atm. Give him one more year he might fit the team or at least show potential for other teams.

And I really dont get people wanting to trade Kuminga and pbj either

In real time I really missed how bad he traveled here lol but that bucket was smooth

Swear Jerome was avoiding wiseman every time he had good positions

I loved that they knew about the 3pt record, but as a team it was more important for them to get Wise the ball.

Shows what they think of him and the culture of team success. Love it.

I think Wiseman’s an ok passer from the post I remember him passing it well to Donte when he cut in the split post set

So…what happens if they sign Ty and he still does this?

Every day there’s a new Secret Wiseman Buddy.

Maybe all his teammates want to beat other teams and give the 7 footer the ball when they see he has an advantage?

I sometimes get the feeling Kerr tells Ty Jerome, “OK, get out there, take care of the ball, no heroics – and absolutely do NOT pass it to Wiseman in the post!”

The Ty Jerome will be running the second unit while Poole is in Curry’s place news left Wiseman in shambles

  17. santadogg

Who’s the guy he scored on in that clip?
