[Keith Smith] One source told CelticsBlog, “We haven’t talked a player who makes more than $6 million with Boston. They’re offering picks and minor players for our low-salary guys. They want to use that TPE.”
[Keith Smith] One source told CelticsBlog, “We haven’t talked a player who makes more than $6 million with Boston. They’re offering picks and minor players for our low-salary guys. They want to use that TPE.”
“With the Danilo Gallinari Disabled Player Exception, Boston has more spending power than most other contenders. That DPE is worth roughly $3.2 million, and it doesn’t prorate like a veteran minimum deal does.
It’s also the presence of the DPE that adds to it being unlikely that Boston will trade Gallinari. If Gallinari is traded before the DPE is used, it automatically expires unused.”
If we can snag Barton off the buyout market and try and trade for a big, I think we’ll be in a much better position.

Whats Grant make again?

Some notes:
1. We, like everyone else, are interested in Kevin Durant. Nothing will probably happen though
2. Grant wants 18-20mil and may not be a Celtics long-term, (though he does want to stay)
3. White is practically untouchable
4. We are trying reeeeeeeaaaal hard to use the TPE
5. PP likely not moved until this off-season
6. We have the best situation for any buyout guy

To this day I will never understand why people post Keith Smith’s stuff on here, I was cracking up when the guy reported that “Hayward is staying in Boston” and *literally* like 10 minutes afterwards it was announced he was signing a contract with the Hornets.
Dude is just making up fanfiction 💀

The DPE will be huge in the buyout market. The move didn’t work out at all, but the only reason we were able to sign Greg Monroe was because we had the gordon heyward DPE and all the other contenders could only give him the vet min. Hopefully that means we can actually land the top buy out guy.

There’s a lot of buzz about Grant getting traded, but to me hearing that we’ll trade Grant for a “comparable player with team control” means we’re not trading him unless some other team gets stupid.
Also interesting to me that other teams thought white would be available. He seems like such a huge part of what we do.

So Vanderbilt, Torrey Craig, pj Washington

I wish we could use the Imperius Curse on James Jones to force him to trade us Cam Johnson.

JaVale McGee is being shopped by the Mavs. We interested?

I’m digging on Keith Smith, he has the inside Celtics info that I crave…

Grant is going to get what he’s owed. If he plays great for the rest of the season then maybe he gets 15-20 mil. If he doesn’t play well he won’t sniff that. Either way, we should try to match what other team’s are offering.
