We have nothing to lose if we can sign him for cheap. Plus, he’ll be on his cyclical revenge arc after being traded. Team is going nowhere at its current state and could use some spice.
We need someone running point and an aging Westbrook is 8th in the league in assists. Pick him up on a 1 year option and see what happens.
The fact that as a fan base we see this is a plausible and seemingly reasonable solution and aren’t afraid of him “ruining the culture” means we don’t believe there is a culture.
Every big loss to a below average team shows that winning culture isn’t built into this team. It doesn’t mean it should be blown up, but it does mean something needs to shift to get on par with other franchises.
