  1. I wanted a Raptors Tank but I can see some logic here in what Masai and Bobby have done. Think greatly improved bench now. Below are the line ups in a decent 10 man rotation. Coach Nurse can close down his sweatshop of working Starters to the bone. The bottom line, the Starters are not overworked and should have better overall play, and the Raptors no longer have the worst bench in the league. It actually is a pretty competitive bench now. Your thoughts anyone?

    STARTERS

    Scottie (G)

    Fred (G)

    Pascal (F)

    OG (F)

    Jakob (C)

BENCH (with some double duty by Scottie)

    Scottie (G) / Malachi (G)

    Gary (G)

    Precious (C/F)

    Boucher (F)

    Thaddeus (F) / Juancho (F) / Koloko (C)

  2. Masai is focused on Africa not the raptors!
After they all leave for F…k all during free agency, ship 🚢 his ass out of here! Time to start over fresh!
    Enough of Africa Bambata 😂

  3. The Raptors are better off sitting tight if there weren't good enough trade offers for their players.

  4. The biggest winners of the deadline were the Spurs. To get a possible #7 pick, and maybe 2 high 2nd rounders for an expiring mid level center is great. If I'm the Spurs, I'm calling Masai every year…and they do btw

  5. …..let him cook!!!! Masai knows what he's doing. Probably the only GM that ain't pulling the trade trigger unless he absolutely needs to!

  6. A little bit of patience? We have been patient enough of not having an elite offensive skilled players.

  7. So it’s either overpay Fred this off-season or let him walk for free, overpay Gary or let him walk for free all while Spending next years first round draft pick on an expiring contract for jakob. Just when I thought Masai and bobby couldn’t make things more insane they one up themselves. Round of applause 👏🏾

  8. I don’t know about “most Raptors fans”, but this was exactly what I was predicting.

  9. Wasted another opportunity to get someone great… then they settle for this. Waste of picks for a less than average player………

  10. The Raptors have essentially stagnated since winning the championship in 2019. They need to pick a direction to follow and stick with it. Either stick with a core of Pascal, Van Fleet, and OG and use trade chips like Barnes and Garry Trent to acquire another very good vet and take a run at competing or movr Pascal, Van Fleet, and OG for young players and picks. Then use those assets and build with them and Barnes as your centre piece. Right now, they are in a less than enviable position of being not good enough to win but not bad enough to get top 5 picks to build with.

  11. Nothing confusing here. You're new to this whole thing and 2019 champagne taste is deceiving you right now. The only trade today that would have made sense that they didn't make was a trade for Bones. You all forget Toronto is not a prime destination. No star is coming here. If we have stars we have created here, we will hold onto them till the wheels fall off unfortunately. Everyone thinks teams are willing to give us shooters 😂😂 . This is not a f**king buffet! Ask yourself why there was mass 2nd round picks. It's because teams are so bunched up everyone thinks they will make the finals this year with their current teams plus a little help. Taking away shooters was never going to happen. Waiting is the right move. Damn bandwagon fans

  12. Fred & Trent resigning or walking now. I think it’s going to be sign and trade like what they did with Lowry.

  13. Is Otto done for the season? I thought he was our shooter.. does this now fall on Nurse to spread the minutes to the bench

  14. these guy want to give the kitchen sink to be in worst down the road sounds like a maple leafs fan to me lol

  15. Absolutely nothing confusing about it. They didn't like the offers they had enough to pull the trigger. Masai won't make a trade just to make a trade. They will reassess in the summer. Pretty straight forward. If they don't like what they see there will still be offers for the players they have.

  16. 😂😂😂😂 we aren't interested in you're picks thanks🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️ Raptors fundamentally kept there core together

  17. I agre with Tim that Masai's reaction at the presser was one of trying to hide his disappointment and embarrassment. Perhaps the blockbuster deal was for KD but the Suns just offered more. I ould imagine the Raps dangling OG, Fred, and GTJ but two of those guys ned new deals and OG will need one soon. And the Raps also probably tried to play hardball with picks.

I was late jumping on the "rebuild" bandwagon because I love all these guys so much and, like many of us, I expected them to be very good this year. I assumed the jump shooting would progress towards the mean and the inconsistant defense would tighted. Mini-leaps from Scottie and Precious and OG.

But glass half-full, I do think this team can make a mini-run and push a better team to 6-7 games in the first round. And hopefully Masai can pull off some sign-and-trades this summer (although I don't really know how). I think Poetl will help us a lot and, because we didn't lose any rotation guys, he adds depth. Hopefully Flynn can be trusted with more backup PG minutes. And perhaps Siakam and Barnes and handle more primary PG mintues to spell Fred a bit. Adding a center should push our forwards down positions for more minutes. More OG at the 2, Siakam at the 1 and 3, and maybe Precious more at the 3?

But if the Raps don't finish our the rest of the year as the team we thought they were, this has been a terrible trade deadline. Even if the "perfect" trades weren't there, the Raps still could have stocked up on first round picks (at least 5) and a few promising young players for OG, GTJ, and Fred.

  18. Lol @ these Raptors fans. Same guys here cryyyyying about the Poeltl deal and not blowing up the team are the exact same fans that were CRYING about not taking Suggs and calling for Masai's head then. Yeesh.

  19. Holy crap guys. The are a developing team. This unit is just 2 yers old, all solid players, alotta youth, and a lotta experience. Remember Memphis? Remember Boston? Probably not. I know that they are getting tighter and better all the time. I guess you guys only read each other’s media things and don’t watch the games much. I suppose I knew that already.

  20. Ok, now Raps have GTJ, FVV and Poeltl all looking for big paydays this off-season with both Pascal & OG extension eligible? Who starts now? Poeltl, Siakam, OG, GTJ, FVV? Barnes to the bench? If GTJ is benched he will most likely leave in the off-season as a free agent & Raps could end up with nothing in return. Poeltl could also get a better offer elsewhere. FVV could just walk away for nothing as well. Or Raps could be forced to take on another Dragic like contract/situation and/or trade away another FRP for a grizzled vet like Thad Young in a S&T. Now, Masai says the Raps need a center, wow. It's been over 3 years since Ibaka & Gasol left the roster. If Raps make the playoffs/play-in they are one & done anyways. Off-season could be a big mess.

  21. Pffff. Im glad nothing happened! Lots of unfaithful fans. Just watch this group play and enjoy them till they are no more.

  22. This front office needs to be reviewed, this makes absolutely no sense, I'm done with this notion that Masai and Bobby play 4d chess, this looks like they have no clue of what direction they want to go, so stressful!
