Grade the Mike Muscala trade! A, B, C, D or F
I give it an A… We got a big who can shoot. For a scrub and a couple of seconds.. Most importantly, we did not trade for Kevin Durant. I did not want to give up Jalen, Marcus and whoever or whatever else for buster down Kevin Durant. Keep the core together. Keep the homegrown talent. We got all we need to turn this into a dynasty.

Makes sense if Al and Rob get hurt in the playoffs then Kornet would essentially start and then Grant would be the backup, which a 6'6 player at center just isn't going to work well. Having Korent and Muscala split minutes 50/50 in a playoffs in the worst case were al and rob are out, this makes complete sense. Kind of hard to grade it given this trade was made in the scenario that both rob and al are out.
Brad addressed a definite need in both size and quality shooting with Muscala 38%from 3 for his career 6'11 could give us 25+minutes as a average
Horford is a stretch 5, Muscala is a stretch 5, this is a good trade for the Celtics and they have a team option for next year for cheap so they have him for a year and a half. Since Gallinari has been hurt all year the Celtics have been in need of a stretch big man off the bench for when Big Al and Rob Williams go to the bench so that will be Muscala's role now, originally intended for Gallinari. Now if Gallinari can come back from injury this year and they have a main big man rotation of Big Al and Rob Williams, then Gallinari and Muscala come off the bench that's a big time positive for the Celtics. Hypothetically if those 4 are actually playing in the rotation, to have Blake Griffin and Luke Kornet be the 5th and 6th big men and get them into the roles the Celtics seen for all these guys before the season started, this gives the Celtics lot of depth at the big man rotation, something they haven't had since around 2007-08 when they won it all. Kabengele Mfiondu being an emergency big man (Kabengele wont be playing in the playoffs due to G-League rules unless the Celtics change his contract soon) the Celtics actually have 7 big men on their roster. For over 10 years, close to 15 years now, the Celtics have been playing with 2 bigs maximum and a bench of small ball players so as far as im concerned this is very good for the Celtics they finally have a bunch of big man and don't make their young stars like Tatum have to play defense and rebound against some of the bigger players in the league. Allows their guard and wing players to play at their more natural positions. The Celtics have a 1000 scoring guards, if Grant Williams and Hauser play efficient like they did last night vs the 76ers they have enough wings. Celtics got everything they need except a point guard to get their scorers in better position and don't have to worry about passing so they turn the ball over less, (since the Celtics don't play JD Davison) im hoping they can get Patrick Beverly or a player similar to him, 3 and D + wont turn the ball over, as a bench player here in the next week or two on the buyout market.
