Grizz apparently offered every single available pick and swap for Durant, per Zach Lowe. He wasn’t ever coming here, even if they made a compelling offer.

  1. The more interesting thing to me is what matching salary they were offering. Was it one of the big three or was it 4 rotation players. I am assuming rotation players but if KD was going to the Suns anyways I guess it is difficult to tell.

My main takeaway is that we have a fucking smart GM. Gave a respectable offer for OG without overpaying, and was willing to empty the bank for a superstar.

Well at least they tried. Can’t blame them. We would be the title favorite. But no way our market wins KD.

The big problem now is our FRPs aren’t going to be worth much for the next several seasons.

Not sure why we refused to give up Bane. 36 year old KD is 4x the player Bane will ever be and I think Bane is a top 30 player in the NBA

Good. I don’t wanna give away the farm for some mercenary, even if he is one of the greatest to ever lace em up.

I’m quite content to win or lose with team we built from the ground up.

This is good considering Chris Wallace would have traded our core for cash by now.

If you’re a player that still thinks that being in a small market is an issue, you’re dumb.

  9. Uhh so what about Phoenix makes it a destination?

Suns picks are just more valuable. KD and CP3 only have so much time until they’re done and they blow it up again so some of those picks can be in the lottery. Bridges and Cam J are much more valuable pieces than anyone outside our top 3.
