[Iko] Teams had trade proposals for Eric Gordon that included late 2023 first-round picks. However, the Rockets saw the opportunity to move up in the draft was more valuable than taking on another late first

Great call by Stone. Another late pick in the 20’s in this draft, which is particularly weak late in the first round, would not have been near enough to move up in the draft as much as the swap with the Clippers will allow us to.

Honestly, a lot of the criticism we all gave him, myself included, for not moving EG sooner has now ended up being proven incorrect. This was very smart roster management.

Which team offer late first for EG? PHX is out of pick to trade. The rest donā€™t make sense. Memphis? Sacramento? Miami? I thought Miami want a PG. It is better to move up. We have too many picks to develop anyway.

Sounds right to me. At this point, we don’t need more picks. Quality over quantity at this point.

Ehh still teams have their guys late first early second theyā€™d rather own unrestricted as opposed to not.

I feel like two late firsts is easier to consolidate in a trade, like we could exchange two firsts in this draft for something that wonā€™t convey for several years down the road, whereas wherever the Clippers pick lands may only be able to kick down for one season though
