[Shams] Just in: A failed physical exam of Gary Payton II has placed the Golden State-Portland-Detroit-Atlanta four-team deal in serious jeopardy, sources tell me and @anthonyVslater . Payton’s core muscle injury could sideline him for up to three months following a Warriors exam.

obviously this is bad but couldn’t the warriors still keep him even with the failed physical so they don’t have to take back the wiseman contract?

    Long story short, we’re cooked.

Recent physicals for Bay Area sports teams: 0/2 😢

  4. Joey light-years Wiseman project must go on LMAO.

Yeah you think that punch was awkward.

didn’t he play against us two days ago? wtf is the blazers medical staff doing lol

  7. Ohmeygaz

Fuck it, just take him and rest him for the postseason. Not like we’re gonna play Wiseman if we cancel the deal.

  8. Ugh… hey James… good to see ya again buddy

  9. BatmanButShak

James Wiseman you ARE a Warrior for life 🙏🏼

And he started the game against the Warriors?! WTF

  11. slicenger7

What the fuck…. That would put him out until 2nd round playoffs and even then, no guarantees he plays. Man, after all this, I’d be heartbroken if this falls apart

  12. The fuck were the Blazers even having him play if he was still injured?

  13. loongod5

Portlands medical staff just like their front office is actual fucking ass.

It just really isn’t our year man 😔 wtf

No wonder GP2 wanted out of Portland. He said he wasn’t feeling right but they probably didn’t believe him and the coach basically called him out to play. GP2 ended up playing the next game due to this pressure.

I hope the team still keeps him because Wiseman wasn’t going to play anyways and this saves them money.

  16. So were the Blazers letting him play injured and trying to trade him? Bc if not, I don’t understand how he was playing a couple of days ago.

Someone over in Portland needs to have their ass fired for rushing GPII back or for wrongfully clearing him. What in the actual fuck is this.

I’m really hoping we continue with the trade regardless. It’s either we do or we’re back where we started.

I’m so livid in Portland right now. That is just not okay.

    from the athletic article:

Payton, according to sources, had been playing through pain in Portland. Sources added that the Blazers training staff had been pushing him to gut through it, giving him Toradol shots. This had not been relayed to the Warriors during the negotiation process.

    Wow, f- the Blazers.

Bay Area teams and failed physicals. Name a better duo.

i’d tell Portland we’ll do it for 2 2nd rounders and give 3 back

    or GFY

  21. loongod5

Still do the trade. If we can make it past the first round we’re still in a really good spot. But fuck Portland for real, fuck the front office, fuck Chauncey for rushing him back, fuck the medical staff for clearing him when he was obviously still hurt, I mean he’s 3 MONTHS REMOVED from being fully healthy and they had the guy playing 22 minutes against us Wednesday. What type of professional basketball organization does that.

All of this noise doesn’t mean jack shit.
The **WARRIORS** have some games to win.
Would love to see him back. Young Mr. Payton, while a fan favorite, is not the answer. The **WARRIORS** need a viable big
