The Los Angeles Clippers are in year 4 of searching for the right cast to put around Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. They were active in the trade deadline bringing in three players and sending three out. Bones Hyland of the Denver Nuggets, Mason Plumlee of the Charlotte Hornets, and former Clipper Eric Gordon will be joining the Clippers in exchange for Luke Kennard, John Wall, & Reggie Jackson.

I don't particularly like the overall moves. The hated Lakers pulled off an A plus whereas the Clippers pulled off a B Minus for me. I advocated for moving Wall and Reggie but they didn't replace them with a starting caliber PG. Love Bones Hyland but he is a project rather than a starter. That means we will probably get the hated Westbrook on buyouts as our starting PG. I like Plumlee but he is just a traditional center to give Zubac a rest. Plumlee is great for the regular season but I would have preferred Vanderbilt who can replace Zubac in the playoffs if we want to go small. Vanderbilt is a far better defender and rebounder than Roco Batum and Morris and the Lakers got him for practically nothing. The move I really dislike is Eric Gordon for Luke. To me you don't trade a 26 year old prime shooter for a 34 year old that shoots the 3 at 34 percent. If we were trading out Kennard which I wasn't advocating we should have got a young 2 way wing from Charlotte. Lastly why is Morris still on the team? Morris should have been traded. In my perfect window we move Wall Reggie and Morris and bring back Rozier Vanderbilt PJ Washington/McDaniels with Bones as a project. When I watched the Lakers pull of home run after home run I nearly threw up!

Yep, these traditional pg's are also a liability on defense. Just run the wings and play Rocco WHEN APPROPRIATE. Plumblee was always annoying to watch when the clippers played against him just cause he hustles on rebounds and does good basic big man shit. I can't wait for him to backup big zu… who seems to be tired a lot these days.
