[Scotto] The Hornets are prioritizing retaining Miles Bridges and PJ Washington as free agents and anticipated a strong market for Jalen McDaniels…(leading to trade)

> With Gordon Hayward also on the books for $31.5 million next season, Charlotte feared losing McDaniels to a team with cap space and traded him to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Teams expected to show interest in McDaniels this summer include the Utah Jazz, Indiana Pacers, and San Antonio Spurs, league sources told HoopsHype. Philadelphia, however, will be able to use McDaniels’ Bird Rights to try and retain him this offseason.

I’m not happy, but a second round pick yielding a future second isn’t the worst…I guess

I believe the FO did the right thing by trading him, I just didn’t think it was enough. But it now makes sense after reading that Mitch & co spend very little time with the trade deadline.

Im open to Miles coming back but I want him to address the media and there has to be a zero tolerance policy with him moving forward. If he is committed to staying out of trouble and focusing on basketball, he deserves an opportunity. Its just basketball and losing sucks.

This was absolutely the right call. Jalen is pretty good but won’t be great and is pretty darn skinny too. We got back at top 35 pick and another TBA pick for a guy we weren’t going to resign that we drafted late.

Isn’t hoopshype a pretty bad source? Feel like I’ve heard a lot of false rumors from this site.

I love bashing Mitch and Buzz, but I think they nailed this trade. Especially because if we don’t get wemby or scoot the next 3 best players are wings in the draft.

They would have paid Jalen and he would have been buried on the bench or let him walk for nothing.

How you have that headline and then that bio lol

Miles Bridges coming back to the Hornets has been this slow drip-drip-drip of a rumor that I’m (thankfully) starting to believe less. Just because the NBA and us as fans have turned our eyes to heinous behaviors from players in the past doesn’t mean we should keep doing it. There is more talent in the NBA than ever before.

Obviously I have no actual intel, like most of us here, but it seems like if they were going to do it then they would have already. He’ll get a long suspension from the NBA, so the sooner he’s signed the sooner he serves which means the sooner he plays.
