  1. As a fan of 30 years I am very disappointed, as in business if you fail to raise the level of product quality you sink instead of rising , and here I see the team that is going to sink, I am no longer sure that we will be in the playoffs, we had to bring in at least 3 reinforcements, I believe that in less than a month we will be number 12 . It's a shame

  2. This loss is on coach Brown! His first quarter substitutes were bad, took out fox way to early and he really did put Ellis with a line up he's never played with. That's when defence was at it's worse.

  3. Stops are great, but man when not converting to points is exactly what separates the wins from the losses this season.

  4. The kings cannot or don’t want to play defense. You just cannot let the opponents icrease their lead from 2 to19 points in two minutes while turning the ball over and making bad decisions. Huerter is an example of not playing hard offense. Brown needs to replace him with Monk or lyles. The kings do not need wake up call. They need to be more physical and hungry.

  5. It doesn’t make any sense to not do anything in the trade? You gotta do something knowing that you can’t play Sabonis and fox that many minutes. It’s gonna wear them down by playoffs time!! Dumb move on the GM for thinking that this team is going to be ok!! SMH

  6. Kings front office should have known they needed some tweaks at the deadline after those bad losses before the deadline and some new defensive energy would have made a difference.

  7. You're kidding yourself if you think the Kings are a top 5 seed at the end of the year and I don't think teams view the Kings as a team to "get up for". Jussayin.

  8. I know that the game is way more than just statistics and numbers…but it's pretty interesting to note that the Kings outscored the Mavs in 3/4 quarters. You could argue that after going up by 20 in one quarter, the Mavs lifted their foot off the gas, but on the other side of that same token, it could be a sign the Kings shored up their defense for the rest of the game. Regardless of what exactly happened, the team tripped during the first, and they couldn't quite recover from that.

Besides that, the most concerning points still stand:
    – 3 pt shooting is dropping
    – defense in the paint is non existent
    – continually NOT taking advantage of converting opportunities on offense when the Mavs couldn't score on the previous possession

  9. "Wake up call"? This game performance is typical of Sacramento Kings. Sleeps/coast/lackadaisical/lazy/slow-footed/you-name-it for a quarter, 2 quarters, 3 quarters, thinking they can turn it on in the last quarter and pull out a win? No sense of urgency from the get go… This is who they are since Day 1. They got used to this type of basketball so, get use to it as well. Just tune in at the last quarter if they are still in it. If they did well in the first 3 quarters then, hit rewind. Me? I browse all games then, just tune in to the competitive/close game in the last quarter.

  10. Matt, this is nothing new, for years. The Kings could not defend the perimeter. Giving up wide open three-point shots. I would say maybe all but one of the three-pointers made by the Mavericks was contested. Also, the few minutes Keon Ellis played, he looked like he was spinning Brodie's out there trying to figure out where he should be, or who he should be switching too.

  11. Improved defense starting lineup for the Kings

C – Queta (shot blocker | Rim protection)
PF – Sabonis (All Star scorer)
    SF – Murray (shooter forward)
SG – Fox (All Star scorer)
    PG – Mitchell (Defensive specialist)

I really hope coach Brown will figure it out in time that these are the right players and position to start that can really improve our defense because in terms of offense we have two all star caliber players that could score night in night out but they need help from a Center and a Guard on defense and in my opinion should be Queta to help Sabonis in the paint and Davion to help Fox in perimeter, Murray should be ok 👍

  12. Keep that same energy the dumbass that thought It was smart to not improve your weaknesses

  13. I knew it was gonna be a long long long game when Sabonis missed three layups in a row within the first minute or two of the game.

  14. And this is why the fans were scratching their heads about WHY the kings stayed pat! When they can't shoot, they are dead in the water. The Kings 3pt shooting is their bread and butter and we will "limp" into the all-Star break. What happens IF they run into a buzz saw after the all-star break and don't make the playoffs? Heads, like yours Matt, will roll. Remember on your podcast you basically chided all of us for yelling at Monty for not making a trade.

  15. The kings should have started their bench players and only let each of their starters only play 10 minutes for the whole game.

  16. Gonna have to fight for the last playin spot. Dallas, Suns, Clippers will pass us in the next 5 games, putting us in #6 against the warriors. Then warriors will pass us. So it will be us competing for the last 3 spots vs pelicans, Portland and the Lakers. Not gonna be easy to make the playoffs.

  17. MEMO to the KINGS…. You might not like it but the West is back with the big boys pants. The 2 sorry teams with the Suns and The Lakers just got amped up. The NUGGETS Clippers MAVS will also contend and you got Memphis waiting in the wing.
