Great news because that was the piece that was incredibly damning if it were true (in terms of the “pushing him to play” in addition to those shots and not telling the Warriors about it)

This is not hard.
Gary got shit on for not playing through expected pain which is a normal part of the rehab process for this injury (dame did it as well as nassir) which is why pretty much every report says his teammates disliked him. Then an article comes out on a PAYWALLED outlet from nba “reporters”.
He most likely got an assurance from the warriors that they’ed circle back to get him at the deadline when they find a way to get assets for wiseman or decided if they still wanted Moses moody, so he signed and rehabbed with us with no intentions of actually commuting to being here or their teams success.
If Gary wasn’t getting shit on for this in the media after the trade, this “failed physical” report NEVER comes out. The blazers team that is holding back Winslow a month and a half for an ankle sprain are not pushing a guy with core surgery back onto the court callously.
Gary probably got toradol shots as part of rehab, but Goodwin is being explicit here saying he never got a shot “to be available for games”, as in they never gave him a shot the day of or before the game so he’d play.
Lol, this was the weirdest trade deadline in a HHHHHHHHHHHHwhile.
