I hope this results in their eventual demise but it’s hard to say at this point

Whatever happens, Bally or otherwise, we must retain Eric Collins as the Hornets play-by-play announcer at all costs.

If Bally going under means we lose Eric and Ashley (I’m sure Dell sticks around regardless) I would be so pissed. Ashley is already side gigging with CBS so think we would lose her.
Feel for them all, I’m sure they would be fine long term but it would be an uneasy feeling.

Dell, Eric, and Ashley are far and away the best in the business. Without them, it would be really hard to watch this season.

The best outcome is the NBA buys the rights back and regional sports ends. I like the local coverage, but I can’t see my team unless I use their crappy service.

Bankruptcy is too good a result for this crap company.

What will that mean for Eric, Ashley and Dell?

I have had the worst experience this season with bally. Freezing and buffering on my phone and on my tv. I hate bally.

Those greedy bastards at Sinclair/Bally sports deserve to fucking collapse. That said, don’t interrupt my Hornets coverage or access to Dell, EC, and Ashley.

I just want to be able to watch hornets on YouTubetv or Hulu live.

This is what happens when you’re too greedy to take market rates from the cable and streaming providers for your channels. In their spot, it seemed like a simple set of options: a) get some revenue from every YouTubeTV/Hulu/etc. subscriber, albeit less than you want, or b) play hardball and launch your own streaming service, getting people to subscribe to it.
I don’t have the exact numbers, obviously, but if you use $2 as their monthly programming fee from cable/streaming providers and $20 for the Bally+ subscription, then they need to get more than 10% of ALL cable/streaming subscribers to subscribe to Bally+. No way. Take the revenue from all providers, as that includes revenue from people who don’t even watch your network and just pay because it’s part of their package. I’d bet the actual conversion rate on Bally+ is closer to 1-2%.
It seemed like a terrible financial decision then, and it still does, not to mention the reputation impact from people like us who were ticked off at them for forcing us into a subscription (on a poorly written app) to watch our team.
The worst part of this is any potential for affecting Eric, Ashley, and Dell.
