[Hine] Some notes from Timberwolves practice earlier today in Dallas. After two practice days, Mike Conley said he feels “way better today than I did two days ago” with his familiarity learning the Wolves’ systems and terminology.

More from Hine that may suggest some interesting shakeups:

> [Chris Finch noted they may lean on Conley to take some prime on-ball matchups, freeing Jaden McDaniels to play more off-ball, where he can also be very disruptive.](https://twitter.com/ChristopherHine/status/1624879542870441986?t=bU9T-7gDs3wcIU8ei_usPw&s=19)

> [Mike Conley on McDaniels. “He’s special. … They ask a lot of him. Me coming in, I want to be able to spell him. He doesn’t have to guard the point guard the whole game or whatever it is he feels he needs to do, and give him even more bounce, more energy.”](https://twitter.com/ChristopherHine/status/1624880563814387720?t=Ke2Drr8fTWHgl_LG16xOiA&s=19)

Hopefully this means less foul trouble for McDaniels

S/o to everybody’s extreme reactions in the gamethread when we replaced our starting point guard with somebody who flew in over night against a good solid team.

Not to mention we’re still missing Kat.

Not saying I’m 100% optimistic about everything but the amount of doomers is depressing.

    We’re Timberwolves fans.

Edit: I miss the times the team was STRAIGHT ASS and the sub was filled with people appreciating the growth and development of our young players.

  3. is it a good idea to have Conley guard like that? I thought he was bad on that end now

That’s pretty interesting if Conley can guard the primary ball handler some nights. Puts a new wrinkle to our defense

Music to my ears from Finch AND Conley.

  6. Id still want McDaniels covering the opposing PG if he is the best offensive weapon. His length really bothers guards

Yeah more than 24 hours on a team will do that. Everyone talking shit on a 9pt debut can go kick rocks.
