Decided to make the 7/11 era timeline in Brooklyn . How would you describe this time to future Nets fans in 10 years?

sad how many of these events have nothing to do with basketball

  2. TheMongolianLemonade

Even though I knew what was gonna happen next, this timeline still felt like a roller coaster

  3. Kwilly462

We’ve been through more stress than most, if not, every sports fan out there in the past 3 years. We deserve some happiness rn.

Wild that Dinwiddie’s injury isn’t on it. As far as bad luck goes, that really was the starting point.

  5. One thing I would add is LMA’s heart condition.

If I had more room I would also add:

-Spencer Dinwiddie’s injury in Dec 2020

    -Blake Griffin signing

-LaMarcus Aldridge signing and retirment (2020-21)

    -KD signing an extension

    -Joe Harris Injury in 2022

-Ben Simmons rumoured to play in the 2022 playoffs and then sitting out

-Nets rumoured to sign Ime before Vaughn

Great job. My only beef with marks was not allowing kyrie to play in road games last year. I never understood why they took that route with him

That’s a pretty well story boarded sitcom right there…
    Kyrie & KD: Hey everybody!
    Nets Fans: Hey guys.
K&K: Guess what we wanted today folks.
NF: What did you want?…(shaking heads and smiling)
    K&K: Well…

    Doing gods work

    Or devils work

Idk I’m still hungover from the 7/11 era 😂😭

With Harden: Nets beat Celtics in 5

Without Harden: Nets get swept by Celtics

the last event should be 2023 not 2022

  12. “Now the story of the basketball juggernaut who had everything, and the one point guard who had plenty of choices, but decided to tear them apart.”

KD was also sidelined for much of the 2021 season, but otherwise, yeah…a collection of mostly off-court chaos

  14. Kooky_Difficulty_648

“Wasted opportunities all over the fricking place”.

  15. swervo246

A whole lotta drama drama and more drama and nothing has to do with on the court

  16. bruce_cocker

Like a fever dream that felt like it lasted ten times longer than it really did

  17. mharri05

Great job with this. Pretty much nails the events. Thanks for not adding unnecessary slant. The events speak for themselves.

  18. Will never fully heal from that series vs the bucks, even just seeing his shoe on the line makes me want to collapse. All went downhill after that

  19. RiseofParallax

This is a composition of facts and the crazy thing is there are people saying the nets FO + organization is dysfunctional. Fuck Kyrie.

  20. Che_Veni

Thanks for pulling this together. 7/11 was our 9/11.

  21. POP_OFF_THEN

In hindsight it was obvious this wouldn’t work

  22. Diesel07012012

“Team held captive by most selfish generation of players in league history.”

  23. The collapse episode on secret base is going to hit different

  24. KingofthisShit

That was a rollercoaster, the start of the downfall was hiring Nash.

  25. Undercoverbrother007

Brooklyn has finally has a chance of winning a chip now

The biggest mistake is the Simmons trade. KD will stay if he has decent help. I think he already accepted that Kyrie will be moved or signed elsewhere but being stuck with Simmons with untradable value and eating your salary cap for the next couple of years is really head scratching. The decision making of Front Office is questionable they make decisions from the top contender to trading your star player in the span of 15 -30 days. This shows front office inexperience getting panic attacks the moment issues arise. There are better ways to handle players issues look at the Lakers how they handle Westbrook from being untradable to retaining your Star player and getting them some help.

Forgot to mention that kyrie was still at games during covid. Even home games going to player’s locker rooms. Wearing no mask. play practices in the nets facility. But the NYC mandate for some reason didn’t allow him to play home games. Even though he was in the arena. There were fans unvaccinated in the stands. Some Fans have no masks etc but they are afraid of covid? Can’t play home games but other players from other teams who are unvaccinated can play in Barclays. Also, Kyrie getting fined every home game he doesn’t play when he wants to play.

I’d be so pissed if I was a Nets fan. I always tried to look at it from your perspective, and could only imagine how annoyed I’d be if I had a guy like Kawhi or Kyrie who miss most of the season for multiple seasons. I’m not sure if KD falls into that category too, but he was out of the league for a long time.

You guys have a tendency to trade the farm for a stacked group of established stars. It’s a big risk, and it’s seared you guys multiple times now.

  29. I think you should have included Kyrie saging the court at the Boston Garden.

  30. The sheer concentration of talent the Nets had should’ve given them a championship — only between injuries and Kyrie… man.
