Silas: “I don’t run any plays for Jabari”
Stephen Silas on Jabari Smith Jr.: “He is young and trying to find his way. Jabari has grit and toughness and tries defensively. And he’s not given much at all … I don’t run any plays for Jabari.” https://t.co/ZagNRXf50M

He knows he’s gone this summer so he’s just trolling now
Loooool
Lmfao there is no way this is real life
what a laughably bad thing to admit
Jesus man….add this to the list of utterly stupid things Silas has publicly admitted to.
Everyone so critical of Smith yet here you have the head coach openly saying he doesn’t care to put him in a position to be successful.
Silas: “I don’t run any plays” fify
What Silas meant, “I dont run any plays”
Huh? It’s not a bad thing to say. Duke coach never ran any plays for Zion either, and Tari is the same.

You run plays mainly for ISO players, C&S or finishers don’t get plays for them cuz they are supposed to get them in the flow of the offense. Plus Jabari is shooting blanks there’s also no point running plays for them cuz he is clanking wide open Js.
Not running plays for him is one thing, but admitting it in front of a journalist is just next level stupid.
At this point, Silas is trying his best to get fired.
If this guy is our head coach by opening day next season I will jump into a pool of acid.
I mean we all knew it. But it’s crazy of him to just blatantly say it
Dude should have to pay his salary back. This level of incompetence should be a reverse uno card for payroll. You pay the employer back.
Another day another reason to fire Silas yesterday.
Well if only he was the coach or something to do something like that😟
Do we need any more proof to move on from this god awful excuse for a coach?
I can see that. Sengun did try to set him up for post move
“the FO doesn’t let me run plays for Jabari”
The dude who was the “2019 Offensive Maverick’s Mastermind” the guy “who help mold luka” doesn’t run plays for our Key Players LMFAO idgaf if their young and rookies you are a COACH!! Do your Job df
They do but it clearly isn’t enough or the plays are busted by the second or third dribble.
Basketball war crimes being committed rn
Aight time to go
Fuck this guy and hope everyone who has been blindly defending Silas for the last two years sees this guy is a joke
Somebody needs to repost this on the NBA subreddit, anything to make this go viral and force Tillman’s hand. Like, holy shit this is fucking malpractice.
Could’ve stopped at “plays”
i’ve been very wrong about silas. seems like a nice dude but he needs to go asap
Gotta fire this fuckin guy.
Most fireable offense I’ve seen since the whole Ime Udoka thing. Would be shocking if he isn’t fired.
You just don’t say this stuff about your own players, or any player for that matter.
Sigh
I’m no fan of Silas, but I’m going to say that this quote was taken way out of context for extra clicks, because that’s sports journalism in a nutshell these days
I wonder Silas runs anything other than NBA 2K ? what is this? is this how you gonna earn the trust of your players and make them motivate and grow them? what kind of coach is this? who does he think he is? G.Popovic? Phill Jackson? Erik Spoelstra?
Yooo the r/NBA comments are hilarious 😂😂
Can’t do anything but laugh at the situation really.
This is one of the worst quotes a coach has ever said
At this point, I think he’s the worst coach in the league. Kinda reminds me of Jim Boylen.
I came in here and got downvoted when I said Jabari was pissed to go to Houston. I came here to apologize. I didn’t think it would actually happen I was bitter.
Organic af
Fire this man right fucking now. Worst coach in Houston sports history
Lol imagine realising this as Jabari (going to assume that realisation came pretty early in the season). 3rd pick, turn up at a young rebuilding team with development at the forefront, and then the coach is just like ‘lol no plays for you’
Silas moment.
Maybe Silas doesn’t believe in Jabari
It’s not personal. He is not running any plays at all.
Monty Williams has said he doesn’t run plays for Deandre Ayton before.
Some players get their offense in the flow of the game. It’s not a knock on Jabari or a sign of mistrust. He still touches the ball fairly often
Why doesn’t he run plays for Jabari and why does he think that’s a good thing? Also why did he even admit it out loud in the first place?
