I knew when we signed Brunson we was getting a good player but even this is ridiculous. Add in Julius Randle shattering his all NBA season and we really are in a position to win now.

I didn’t write this in my original post because I didn’t want to deter from those stats but I have to believe this is why Barrett is getting heavily criticized. It’s feeling like he’s holding these two back.
We really have a top 6 offense and our offense is his turn, my turn.
The Team does the right things though, finding the right mismatches, moving the ball on kickouts, CUTTING (so big), rebounding ect.
I do think we will do more P&R with mitch back, I think that would help RJ a lot as well.
We just need a reliable #3!

The Knicks are becoming a very attractive trade destination for star players with Brunson and Randle being in their primes and All-Star and possibly All-NBA caliber players. The rest of the team beyond those two is solid. Grime and Mitch are starting caliber players, IQ is a nice sixth man, RJ is a young player with room to grow, Hart is a high quality player who can fit in off the bench or as a starter and Obi, Sims, Deuce and Hart can all be nice role players.
Even if the Knicks don’t make a big splash they have a core of players that they can be highly competitive with. Building competently since the summer of 2019 has paid off.

Knicks just need to find a disgruntled star that would fit this core. Then Build a package around first round picks and RJ Barrett and go chase a title.

Resign Hart, flip RJ and Grimes and some picks for a star, and we’re in business.
I think Duo as opposed to Superstar is the way to go for now. Brunson and Randle hold their own against the other team’s best most every night and Brunson is a true closer. JHart has helped deepen the bench. RJ and Grimes either grow into 3 and D on decent volume or the Knicks upgrade reliability at those positons. But superstars should only be pursued if they “fit” the team and are better than RJ and Grimes.
It’s clear we need a reliable perimeter-based 3rd scorer that is consistent and switchable on d. Only 2 games but JH is building a case for himself.

Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle are a top 5-7 duo in the league. Dont build around them but build with them. This team is going to be special.
