I get it – There are guys who shoot 3s at a higher percentage than Randle. But, with a vacancy, it’s not that weird a choice. He’s 7th in the league in 3s attempted and 10th in the league in 3s made. So, he’s been a pretty good volume 3-point shooter.
He’s replacing Anfernee Simons, who’s shooting 38.1%. Randle’s shooting 33.8%, so the difference between Randle and Simons is approximately 4 3’s over 100 attempts. For other competitors in the competition the numbers are closer than that. Tatum (35.7), so less that 2 made 3’s over 100 attempts. Herro (36.9) and Lillard (37.2) around 3 made 3s over 100 attempts.
Is it likely Randle will win? No. But he’s streaky from the 3 and it’s not ridiculous to think he could get hot.
Would you question if Poole (33.5) was included? Luka (34.9)? Kyrie (37.9)? How about Jaylen Brown (33.1)? Ant Edwards (36.6)? Trae Young (32.4)? I doubt it.

Lolwut? Did not have this on my bingo card. I know he shoots at volume but I always felt this was more of an efficiency competition. He doesn’t shoot from the corners as much so I wouldn’t be surprised if he struggles with those racks. Nevertheless I’ll be rooting for Jules.
If Julius didnāt shoot so much volume he would be a 37% shooter. Tatum shoots high volume only 35% he would probably be 39/40 if his volume wasnt high. Randle shoots 39% from 3 on the road.
