Will Jalen Brunson Help the Knicks Return to Glory? | New York Post Sports

Jalen Brunson did not need to make the All-Star team to convince anyone that he is an all-time steal at $26 million a pop. As much as Brunson deserves to be in Salt Lake City for All-Star Weekend, the Knicks and their fans did not need that form of validation.

What they did need was a long-term point guard who inspires belief in everyone, the kind of quarterback who compels stars to sign up to play with him. Dating back to their most recent glory days — the 1990s — the Knicks have actually suited up some distinguished figures at the point.

  1. I could see Giannis and Luka liking the idea of coming to New York. "New York" is a global brand a European MVP caliber player would like on his resume for his own personal global branding purposes.

  2. JB is a franchise point guard. He is a scorer, he is a great decision maker with the ball in his hands, and he has leadership qualities. He is not a superstar, but he can attract a superstar to the Knicks. I suspect that IKyrie/Luka experiment will not work out in Dallas, so 2026 could be that year.

  3. did we forget who the owner of the knicks is? as much as i love the knicks i will never pay a dime for any knicks merchandise or tickets just because of dolan and how he treats people. sell the team please.

  4. This is a team dripping with young talent that's going to keep getting better and a whole bunch of draft picks. Only thing we really need is a healthier center. No big moves needed. Stay the course.
