I am in no way defending the actions of him as a 20 year old adult, but I think there could’ve been a path for him to repair his mistake. It appears as though Malone has done the exact opposite. It’s one thing if you do something terrible like that in the first place, but it takes another level to show no signs of remorse for it.
He couldn’t pay child support for his own child as an NBA superstar? He didn’t spend time with his kid in any way? Now he won’t even talk to the media about it saying it’s personal?
I don’t know, am I wrong for thinking he could’ve made things better?
Karl Malone is a piece of shit. He did a terrible thing and he clearly is not remorseful for it. Saying that, it pisses me off that r/nba is full of sanctimonious assholes that post this shit constantly to farm karma and at the same time praise Kobe. The amount of Kobe flairs I’ve seen shit on utah and malone this weekend has been insane. Kobe Bryant violently raped a woman while he was in the league. He didn’t have to go to prison because the prosecution’s case fell apart after the victims name was leaked to the press and she was harassed, threatened, and shamed to the point that she refused to testify. If you want the nba to not acknowledge rapists then be consistent. No more Kobe Bryant All-Star Game MVP, no more talking non-stop about “Mamba Mentality”, no more letting Tatum and other stars wear his wristbands and shoes, take down his retired jersey, don’t build his statue. If you still wanna celebrate Kobe than damn right Malone should be on that all star stage. He’s 3rd on the all time scoring list, he’s one of the best players ever. If you hate rapists that were stars in Utah you should hate rapists that were stars in LA. But people don’t hold themselves to that standard because they don’t really feel that way, they just want internet points.

Honest question, anyone still gonna rep his jersey without issue? I’m very conflicted on it. I love my Malone jersey and I loved watching him play, but it feels fucking weird it rock his name on my back. On the other hand, I never stopped listening to Michael Jackson because I think you can separate the man and the art. Is it the same here?
