It is a Brooklyn Nets cross-over! Adam is joined by the Talkin’ Nets crew to take the at where the franchise stands as it heads down the home stretch of NBA season.
They kick things off however with one last discussion on Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant who offered their perspectives on trade requests/demands and the state of the NBA in the player empowerment era. They also spend time trying to figure out what Ben Simmons is, or is not, as an NBA player and where his role should be over the remainder of the season.
From there all eyes turn to the new look Nets and what can be expected in the short and long term, specifically from Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson.
Lastly, Adam gets the Cam Thomas perspective from the guys, as he seems to have franchise hoops to jump through while also being a walking bucket when on the court.

The State of the Brooklyn Nets is one of hope. Yes the Nets ended the superstar era that never truly got the chance to shine. They traded KD and Kyrie away and instead of just blowing it all up they managed to establish a good young core and restock a lot of first round draft picks. They have a building core in top defenders Mikal Bridges Cam Johnson Nic Claxton and Dorian Finney Smith. They have a good cast of veterans in Spencer dinwiddie joe Harris Royce o Neale Seth curry patty Mills Yuta Watanabe.
They have two wild card talents in Ben Simmons who is a great defender who needs to provide more offense and a solid young offensive player in cam Thomas who needs to defend better.
So The Nets may not have a superstar but they have one of the deepest groups in the NBA and some of the best defenders in the league. If they make the playoffs bracket they will not be an easy out by any means and will put in that work. 🔥

Been a fan since Dr. J and the ABA. Kyrie is responsible for the big three not working out. He’s the king of hypocrisy. Nets bent over backwards for him & this is how he repaid them. His lack of commitment & accountability is the reason Harden wanted out.

These 4 guys were trying to cope to the fact that no superstar is ever going to go to Brooklyn and they will never win a championship. Nobody wants to play for Joe Tsai after throwing his own player (Kyrie) under the bus via the tweet, then stipulated 5 steps for Kyrie to come back after his suspension. That's a dictator. Kyrie is the reason why KD went to Brooklyn in the first place. You ungrateful Net fans should thank him, because Joe Tsai and Sean Marks ain't going to get any player of worth to play for that team.
They walked in as free agents giving the nets huge assets acquired by just being there?Kyrie and KD left for reasons that they only know ? but look at what haul of talent you got back be grateful you even got given the opportunity

I think since they paying him 35 million it's hard to just sit him and let him not play. I believe in the summer he will be traded to a team like the pistons because it's some team out there who think they can bring the old Simmons back

They say we have a good defensive Squad which lost to the Knicks? Which haven't happened in the last 3 years I I know Nets fans are saying "Oh it's a new team" but the Knicks fans don't care all they know is they beat the Nets. And that we have a lot of good draft picks? like tomorrow is promised to everyone? Real Brooklyn Nite's are going to rock Brooklyn Jersey because it represents Brooklyn regardless of who's on the team. The Brooklyn way??? Who is this Guy??? We was losing duing the Brooklyn way!!! Stop acting delusional. The Nets didn't have anyone representing them in the all-star but we gave up 2 All Stars? How is that a good business decision?
It's a superstar thing only they can pull these types of things off because superstars put you in championship position, and the owners know that, at the same time kyrie abused his power because he could have been had an extension unless the vaccine was the deal breaker then I'll give him a pass.
Should the Nets have offered a 4 year max with no conditions to Kyrie? I say, YES based on 👉 Kyrie is the key to keeping the most important cog for this team, KD. Nets had a realistic chance of winning the Championship this season. If Kyrie failed to let’s say ‘behave’, Nets could have traded him down the track for potentially better haul given he will come with more years in his contract unlike the 3-5 month loan now. You need multiple superstars with experience winning championships to win championships. It takes a long time to identify and develop players into superstars and then surround them with right complementary pieces. Nets already had two of them who were also clutch. Nets wasted a golden opportunity and lost it all by trying to send a message to an individual. BAD CALL.
Think about this for a moment….it took Milwaukee Bucks 8 years to tweak year after year and win one championship with Giannis after drafting him. 😢
Been a Nets fan since 2002. I'm just happy the drama is over. I'm just worried next year since technically, there will be no all stars for the Nets, it will be harder to get some Nets gear. I'm from the Philippines. I'm just wondering, in the very remote possibility that we get a championship this year, do we give rings to kyrie and kd, too?
