Top 2 in AST (behind Harden) and Potential AST (behind Halliburton). Here is why second place here places him ahead of both. Look at the passes made metric. He is not assist hunting at all, and does not make a high volume of passes. Regardless, he is top 2 in assists! The other two previously listed names have significantly higher pass amounts, meaning that they assist hunt and do not make the most of their passes. Trae on the other hand is very efficient with his passes and rarely makes impact-less passes. Imagine if he didn’t have to be such a scorer and passed even more. Top 1 in AST.

DEFENSE:
All of the “he doesn’t play defense” crowd can be quiet now. Look at Trae’s defensive rating. Better values (the smaller this number the better) than a lot of other guards that “play defense, unlike Trae” 😕😊 Better than Donakick, Lamelo, Halliburton, and Lillard, to name a few. Put some respect on his name for his increased effort on that end this season.

All of this and the league had the audacity to not select him to be an all star….. the least we can all do is continue to show love to our SUPERSTAR.
All of y’all saying “trade Trae!”, please do us all a favor and delete your accounts, sell your computers, and switch sports. Go be cricket fans.

Why does trae have a better defensive rating than murray lol, strange times we live in

Trae is better at defense this year, but single player defensive rating isn’t a good stat as it’s more dependent on who’s on the floor with him (as you can see that Dre is just above him). D Raptor, defensive Box Plus-Minus and the like do a better job to show the performance of a single player.

I think that ratio you’re talking about describes the shitty iso ball system we have more than it describes passing efficiency. Sorry
