I guess we’re looking for someone to fill the George Hill role

  2. william4534

The only thing people will remember was his screw up, but his work since to make it right has been commendable. He’s gone out of his way more than anyone since Tim Hardaway to undo his mistake. Hope he succeeds.

Giannis’s wrist is only going to take 10 days to heal confirmed

  4. Skeleboi846

I don’t imagine he’ll be extended beyond the 10 days but we’ll see, to his credit he seems to have done a lot of work to improve himself

  5. AJohns-US

Look, everyone deserves a second chance, and he’s done so much to prove that he regrets what he said and show that he learned from his mistake. I’m glad the Bucks are giving him that second chance

  6. TYBG1001

Think I’d rather have an empty roster spot

Before clicking, remember that Twitter is not real life.

  8. Good lord the moral police always come out full force on these posts. He has done an incredible amount of work to make right and try fixing his mistake.

Doesn’t mean it was ok, but I find it hilarious the amount of people here that hide behind a keyboard that have probably said and done things they aren’t proud of but hold such a high double standard for everyone else 🤷‍♂️

  9. Ghostofclaybobpast

Welp. This ain’t good. Seems like they are planning for giannis to be out a while.

  10. We had George Hill for years who is a Farakan dude and probably actually anti-Semitic. This is an upgrade with a guy who’s actually shown remorse.

The only thing is we should have signed him last year when Brook was injured he fits next to Giannis as a big body who can shoot.

As someone that isn’t Jewish, there’s no way I can say he’s stoned for his action. But I don’t personally have a morale issue with this. Had he issued some generic apology and moved on, that’d be a problem. But as a society, I’m not sure what more we can ask of someone than to issue a genuine apology for their excuse, meet with community leaders to educate themselves and make a clear effort to grow as a person.

  12. CupOfHotTeaa

If he is sincere about his attempt to repair the damage done then he deserves a second chance

Also of course it’s woj who report this

  13. Bucks2020

LETS GO… he’s definitely worth more than just a 10 day

  14. I’ve followed Meyers since he was in high school, and while I don’t personally know him, I’m confident in saying that he’s been genuinely remorseful for what he did, and he’s been honest in owning up to it and he’s been honest in using this incident to make himself better moving forward. He’s always been a well-meaning, small town boy. That’s good in that he sincerely wants to like everybody and he sincerely wants everyone to like him. He’s always been that way. And that’s bad in that he’ll forever be fighting to grow out of his small town, sheltered roots. In the end, he’s a marginal NBA player with 1 legit NBA skill, shooting. And if he can’t keep his mouth quiet, he should be shown the door ASAP. But unlike a lot of athletes that have made mistakes and allegedly learned from them, this is an example where I feel that’s a fully accurate statement.

From a strictly basketball perspective, I like the idea of another large big with range. Leonard is 7’1” and is an above average shooter from the position. It would be nice to have that size when Brook sits or if Bobby is simply too undersized to match up with a particular big.

I usually prefer it if the Bucks stay away from controversial people in general, if nothing else out of principle. But if it’s worth anything the general consensus is that he has done a substantial amount of work with the Jewish community to correct the mistake he made. Better than a fair number of other players in the NBA at the very least.

As far as his basketball ability is concerned, your best guess is as good as mine.

Does this have anything to do with Gianni’s hand imjury?

  18. WeightliftingTA

Jew checking in. Even though I am Jewish I don’t think I have the right to “forgive” him for anything. That said, he has done everything and more than I could have personally asked for me to move on. He certainly deserves a second chance in my book based on the work he has done.

  19. CounterOk7688

As a Jewish man and Bucks fan, I️ am INCREDIBLY disappointed

  20. iusutotookadump69

I’m glad he’s been given a second chance. Obviously what he said was wrong, but everyone makes mistakes with what they say. He just has a higher platform compared to everyone else. Glad the bucks gave him a new opportunity. Looking forward to seeing him play!

  21. 1998TimThomas

Didn’t he also refuse to back up his teammates in the bubble to protest police brutality? He’s a thin blue line jack ass. Fuck this guy.

  22. twelve026

Remember when there was a world where people made mistakes and went on to genuinely learn from them to continue getting better as a human?this is a nice basketball move for a 10 day contract tho.

  23. AmericanLardAss

In no defense of ML because the remark aside, he’s been not playing for this time either.

This isn’t good, we needed a big anyways cuz of Bobby being out but does it mean Giannis is missing actionable time?

Moreover, isn’t Lasry Jewish? I know he’s on the way out but if Lasry wasn’t into this, he isn’t getting signed.

  24. HooperSuperDuper

His NBA layoff has been even longer than Jae’s. Why do we think this makes any sense from a pure basketball POV? Won’t it take him longer than 10 days to just get up to NBA speed?

  25. basketballmathguy

Welp this comment thread is……. interesting lol. Dude fucked up and went way beyond what most people do to improve and correct his behavior.

  26. Thellamaking21

This headline is ridiculous. Love for him to do that for kyrie

  27. travis_mke

One of the best things that happened to me after leaving Twitter was realizing that you don’t *have* to have an opinion about everything, and that if you do have an opinion, it doesn’t *have* to compete to be the most notable version of that opinion.

Leonard said a bad word on stream. It seems like he didn’t really understand what the word he said meant, but he was an adult and he should have known better. Since, it seems like he’s regretful and remorseful. You have to allow a path for people who do wrong to atone, otherwise, what’s the point in trying to atone?

I assume he’ll be asked about it a lot in the coming days. I hope that goes well for everyone. Then, I hope he inserts the orange ball into the slightly more orange circle a lot of times.

  28. ImperialSympathizer

Me, a jewish man: “George Hill’s endorsement of Stephen Jackson’s antisemitic post bothers me. I wish we’d dump him and acquire a backup stretch big.”

    *Monkey’s paw curls one finger*

  29. WeefBellington24

Interesting how Kyries comments get forgotten but Leonard’s are associated with him at all times

  30. Kettleman1

While I don’t agree with what he said and think it is abhorrent to use such language casually, I do think there was a bit of an overreaction here. The dude was receiving death threats for saying a racial slur which to me is ridiculous, you can’t come across as the more ‘moral’ side by addressing these kinds of things with violence or death threats. It looks like he learned a lot from the experience and has immersed himself more in jewish culture which is good. I personally think someone shouldn’t be let go or fired just because of something they said in the heat of the moment, as long as they realise they fucked up, take ownership and look to better themselves anyone should be able to come back.

If anyone reads my other posts you’ll see I’m quite critical of Kyrie Irving for his slurs and anti-Semitism and thought I’d address it so I don’t really have to reply to people. My two cents here is that Meyers went out of his way to improve himself and realised his fuck up, compare that to Kyrie has done little of that, simply posting some half backed apology he didn’t mean, & is still critical of not being able to post blatant anti-Semitic propaganda.

  31. Chuy-IsSmall

He had two counseling periods with two rabbis and became fully educated by members of the jewish faith in about the context and meaning of the word. He has done way more than Kyrie ever did. He deserves a chance even if turns out to be not so useful.

  32. Mountain_Experience

The problem with Leonard is pre leg injury he was a poor rim protector. I guess you never know given the way Lopez turned it around so probably worth a roll of the dice
