I was so excited when we drafted him from Maryland. His underdog story of not playing org ball until late, being raised by his grandmother, going through JUCO, and tearing up the ACC a few years after Iverson. His handles, explosive athleticism, and tenacity/hunger displayed on the court just felt like he had the dawg in him. I couldn’t believe we got Yao after and still giggle at the trio of him, Cat Cuttino Mobley owning their respective wing areas in endless isos lol. Heck I remember Barkley was there too LOL!
Wow, I can’t believe he is 46 man… I remember watching him in college and I knew he was going to be special. Such a shame injuries ruined his career. Still one of top 3 of my favorite Rockets ever.

The Franchise was a pure hooper. Also ahead of his time as a volume outside shooter
KPJ really reminds me of him

Revisionist history will say this was some of the most unwatchable basketball in rockets history, but in the moment it’s one of my fondest memories. I worked on my hesi everyday trying to learn that hesi pull up he perfected. Some fun teams. Some really fun teams.
